Were I a Catholic, here's where I'd put my money. Protestants have hundreds of such colleges wher the students are ardently evangelical and the faculty is a role model for them. Many go on to seminary.

In my 1st year class at seminary there were 400 men and the school had to turn away over 600 more that had applied.

Religious schools that are laced or infested with liberal unbelief are not worth a dime and need to die the death of dried up funding.

**The result is a vacuum that conservative Catholics are attempting to fill: Three traditionalist Catholic colleges have opened in the past five years, and two more are expected to open soon.**

Monaghan -- Ave Maria
Loyola College in Baltimore
Christendom College in Front Royal, Va

I wonder where the next two will be?

At the Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH, all the theology professors take an oath of fidelty to the Pope and the Magisterium of the Church. There are also about 700 kids that attend Mass every day, which is offered at three times throughout the day.

I remember saying the Angelus everyday at noon when I was in Catholic school. My daughter just completed 17 yrs of Catholic education and doesn't even know what the Angelus is. Saying the Angelus was one of Catholicism's beautiful and rich traditions. Too bad it was relegated to the trash heap.

The restoration of Traditional Catholicism reminds me of those chapters in Chronicles (2 Chronicles 30-35) where the Jewish leaders rediscover their faith and the law book of Moses.

I have often thought that if I had the wherewithal I would like to start a Traditional Catholic Elementary school.

The only matter of concern for me in the article was the comment from Mr. Healey. Some people just cannot reconcile themselves to the virtues inherent in strictness and obedience.

Ave Maria College is so successful, that they are now expanding into Florida!

This is a very good sign ... we may yet see the tide turn in our lifetime.
