POPE WARNS OF "A TRUE CONSPIRACY AGAINST LIFE AND FAMILY"

POPE WARNS OF "A TRUE CONSPIRACY AGAINST LIFE AND FAMILY" Says Bishops are "the first ones called to be untiring teachers of the Gospel of life"

VATICAN, March 31, 2003 - Pope John Paul II addressed the Bishops of Indonesia Saturday during their 'ad limina' visit to Rome. Addressing life and family issues, the Pope said, "A true 'conspiracy against life' and the family is appearing in many forms: abortion, sexual permissiveness, pornography, drug abuse and pressures to adopt morally unacceptable methods of population control."

The Pope then challenged the Bishops saying, "Notwithstanding the difficulties involved in countering these tendencies in a non-Christian society, you as Bishops are 'the first ones called to be untiring teachers of the Gospel of life'. At all times, the Church's prophetic voice must loudly proclaim the need to respect and promote the divine law written on every heart (cf. Rom 2:15). (cf. Redemptoris Missio, 54).

No point posting this. As the responses from Catholic Freepers on other recent threads keep reminding us, the pope is a senile old man manipulated by handlers hostile to all we hold dear. Obviously, this stuff is just his--or somebody's--personal opinion.

I wouldn't bet on that. While Parkinsons' is physically debilitating there is NO evidence that this disease causes mental incapacity.

Oh, come on - the man has inherited the legacy of the nazi-coddling WWII Vatican, the sins of all pedophiles worldwide, the sins of Ted Kennedy and Susan Sarandon, he drools and - what is more - he worships Mary. He can't even find the bible verse where it says that the pope is the anti-Christ and Jack Chick is the font of Truth.

Wake up - his handlers are obviously trying to paint the Church as anti-gay for PR purposes. This is a big charade. The Church loves abortion, too - how do you think those virgin nuns avoid giving birth to the spawn of all those celibate preists?

Same with purgatory - its just a big scheme - invented in Old Testament times as an elaborate device to prop up the coffers of the pope so he could have gold toilets.

I wonder if JP2 was so direct in his discourse while hanging with the Muslims.

The Holy Father needs to come to America and talk to the Bishops! Fortunately, I have a great pro-life Bishop in the Sacramento Diocese. I wish as a church we could stand up more in the parishes against contraception and abortion, though ... my parish priest thinks that if we have an active pro-life committee at the parish that it rubs salt in the wounds of those who have had abortions. I disagree ... if they have repented and accepted God's forgiveness, they need to accept His mercy and shed their guilt, though I'm sure that is hard. I've felt guilty for a long time after confession, even though I was absolved, but some of my sins, but over time I grew to love the Lord more strongly for His forgiveness and mercy, and felt less guilty.

I think in the parishes we could do so much to steer young people down the right path, work to console those who have had abortions by getting them into programs like Project Rachel, and teach married people to use NFP instead of contraceptives. Contraceptives are a mortal sin, while using NFP -- even for the wrong reasons -- is never a mortal sin.

Yes, the Pope is right, the Bishops are the front line, but we laity must back them up, starting in our own parish.

God bless!

Throughout history there were Popes much younger who also made mistakes, age had nothing to do with it. There is a systemic worldwide problem in society and in the church and it will take a long time to correct it.

Nice try, but your weak Catholic-bashing has no effect here. Why not just post a link to ALBERTO by Jack T. Chick and save yourself the typing?

Yours in Christian fraternity,

The Pope leashed a bunch of Pedophile priests against families, and he needs to work on his own house, before he starts pointing fingers elsewhere. He has lost credibility.

Oh yeeaaaaasssss - the pope is the anti-Christ and eats babies for supper (to be eliinated later into his solid gold commode - a crapper paid for by money extorted from hard-working protestants by jewish banks that the masonic-papist cabal secretly ran for the past 1000 years).

After that, he worships Mary and prays to the devil, of course he rapes a dozen boys and impregnantes a nun now and then.

In betewwn times he cleverly edits the scriptures to suit his infallible whims.

Given John Paul II's leniency toward Iraq, apparently tossing people into paper shredders doesn't qualify as being part of the "conspiracy against life."

Oh no - the pope and Saddam go golfing together.
In fact, Saddam lets the pope borrow one of his wives (if you know what I mean - wink wink)

Mind you, this is after the two of them exchange bodily fluids between themselves.

Most of this is filmed and kept in supersecret vatican vaults (they keep this on file in order to blackmail the pope in case he gets too big for his breeches)

Do you suppose, (just supposing) that JPII is trying to tell certain Bishops and Cardinals that they ought to OUT certain "Catholic" politicians???
