QUESTION: Was the Sinaiticus Codex actually rescued from a wastepaper basket? What is your evidence for this?

This is not so!
Tischendorf found old manuscript scraps to be burnt in 1844.
Years later on another trip to the monastery he was presented with the Sinaticus codex by the stewart who had it in his cell wrapped in a red cloth! It was NEVER in a trash can to be burnt.

Reminds me of when a friend's car was stolen. The thief, when caught by police, said some buy just gave him the car.
Does anyone really expect the thief to tell the truth about his crime?
This book should be returned to its rightful owners. No true Christian would keep the property of another.
