"Scientists have already said that one possible explanation for the tears is the fact that the marble statue is kept in a glass case, which could lead to condensation appearing on the Virgin Mary's face."

The photo looks like blood, not tears. Or do they mean tears of blood?

Interesting that Muslims are interested.

That photo is of some statue in Italy. I have no idea why, but the BBC didn't put a picture of the statue in Bangladesh in the article.

Muslims are queuing to see the statue even though the Koran warns believers against showing an interest in religious idols. ~ Article Woody.

I remember hearing something about a Padre Pio statue in Italy and some miracle.

The BBC is known for biased, unfactual, at times anti-Catholic reporting.

Interesting that Muslims are interested.

Don't know what's going on with the statue. Could be condensation as the article stated. While Muslims are not Christian and do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God, they do believe He was a great prophet. They also honor and respect Mary His mother. It is my understanding that she is the only woman mentioned by name in the Qu'ran.

It is ironic that it is the infidels who understand the need to avoid idolatry.

I don't recall the article mentioning anybody who actually worshiped a statue. If they did, it indeed would be idolatry.

Of course, we both know that Catholics do not worship statues or Mary. If you don't know that, you do now.

"It is ironic that it is the infidels who understand the need to avoid idolatry."

I am encouraged to note that you are now referring to yourself as an infidel, but I am not sure where irony comes into it!
