This "sermon" is the reason Egan is the Archbishop of New York and THE SEATTLE CATHOLIC is used to line bird cages.

The Bishop of Wichita, Kansas kicked a classmate of mine out of his diocese when the priest refused to honor the bishop's request that he preach a sermon or two on something other than abortion.

To everything there is a season, and yesterday was NOT the day to talk about abortion.

But, I'm not surprised you liked an article which demeaned the ceremonies at Ground Zero. Radical trads are the most insensitive people in the Catholic Church.

When are we allowed to resume the fight to save unborn lives?

Throwing abortion in the faces of those people yesterday by Cardinal Egan would have damaged the pro-life cause immeasureably.

Like it or not, abortion is both a moral AND a political issue.

As my very perceptive wife, my dear, dear Sharon, noted: "I would only be outraged by this Mass if it had any relation to Catholicism." Indeed. Cardinal Egan's September 11, 2002, had no relation to Catholicism. It was an expression of the Americanist-Masonic spirit of the triumph of self-reliance, brotherhood, courage, and religious indifferentism.

A Mass had no relation to Catholicism? Oh, it must be because it was Novus Ordo, and the Seattle Catholic is one of those REMNANT, barely-in-the-Church, trad rags.

Droleskey and his "dear wife Sharon," with their venom, would have been better off staying away from St. Patrick's. They got no grace with their gracelessness.

I beg to differ with you, but everyday is a day to talk about abortion and condemn it when your the "celebrant" and you are addressing pews full of pro-death politicians, probably in the front pews.

Those bastards should have been barred from the church. Yet they were individually acknowledged at a Catholic Mass. Shame on Egan and shame on you for defending a worthless Cardinal!

I heard he was there; seen going into a confessional with an altar girl while Hillary read the second reading.

Start your own, and you can keep out everybody you don't like.

Shame on Egan and shame on you for defending a worthless Cardinal!

He's not my cup of tea, but you and Duell seem to be quite alone in your desire to see abortion shoved in the faces of people on every occasion.

Why shouldn't it, innocents are being butchered by the millions?

Time and place. The fact you don't realize that "there is a season" makes you dangerous to the pro-life movement.

They are not quite alone. The truth must always be proclaimed in the public square. If the people don't like it let them reject it at their own peril.

There's lots of "truth." Do you plan to squeeze it all into a 20 minute homily?

Sure, forget the homily. Look those pro-death politicians right in the eye, name everyone of them individually, and tell them they're on the way to Hell unless they repent. It could take no more than 2 minutes.

But then again sinkspur you believe that there is a possibility that no one is in hell.

There's a reason Egan's where he is and you are where you are.

And I also wish to differ with you. Cardinal Egan, through his acknowledgement of those politicians has shown in practise what our faith is really all about. Today's gospel reiterated the Beatitudes, and it may do well for you to refer to them on a daily basis and pray that you be enlightened so as to use them for the greater glory of God. Yes, granted abortion is wrong, but one must use discretion in voicing your opinion. Sometimes in silent action one accomplishes more than shouting from the rooftops in vulgar rantings. The Cardinal, in all sincerity is trying to bring about a reconciliation and perhaps in your insensitivity you are doing the opposite.

The Catholic church teaches that Hell exists and it is occupied. Saints have had horrible visions of souls, not only in Purgatory, but in Hell.

What's your real religion?

Yeah, you're right; I don't protect homosexual priests and lie to the victims.
