US Cardinal soon to be outed as homosexual...Which one?
O'Reilly, NY Post, The Diocese Report, others... ^

On Fox tonight O'Reilly said a cardinal is about to be outed as an active homosexual. Rumor has it Bishop Bruskiwiecz sent a letter telling this Cardinal to "resign, or else..."
NY POST: WHICH American cardinal recently disclosed to insiders a confidential letter he received from a bishop urging the cardinal to resign for the good of the church? The cardinal is being urged to quit before his much-gossiped-about homosexual indiscretions are uncovered by the media . . . WHICH ranking priest of a major diocese predicted over a boozy dinner the other night that if the media outs this particular cardinal, "then the dominoes will really start to fall"?

I asked the Priest to lead us in the Fifth Mystery. He said, "I'm not familiar with this particular devotion.".
This brought tears to my eyes...howlingly...I now know where that screen name derives from as it is the only fitting description for this. What a nightmare!!!

Howling,
That was nothing less than a stunning admission - even today.
I don't expect a priest to know everything.
But he ought to know the rosary by heart.
Perhaps they were too busy reading Hans Kung in seminary to get around to it.

"Give Bruskewitz Boston and an immediate red hat and watch the restoration of Boston's Catholicism. Give the Kennedys and the other phony pseudoCatholics an archbishop to fear."
From your lips to God's ear I pray! Then we will have to give Bruskewitz a bullet proof vest too!(This is just the beginning...the use of force and violence is a key component of the left...be prepared for it.)

When one considers the evolving Latino-Anglo linguistic split developing in some quarters of North America, however, Latin may turn out to be a diplomatically useful language liturgically in the Church of the future. That's the irony. When the liturgical reformers abandoned Latin, they never expected that English would not be the common language of the Church in North America.

After Cushing and before Law, Humberto Cardinal Medeiros was Archbishop of Boston. Medeiros took over sometime between 1967 and 1973 (sorry I can't remember) and died in 1983. So, Cushing was a predecessor of Law just not his immediate predecessor. Thanks, maryz.

I heard good things about his administration in NJ. From where? McCarrick was a disaster. Myers is now trying to clean up the mess McCarrick left in the Archdiocese of Newark.
For example, McCarrick let a pro-death political candidate (McGreevey, a nominal Catholic) hold a campaign event at a Catholic school where a priest was forcibly removed from the event for merely being pro-life. Coleus, do you have the link to the thread on Fr. West handy?

Madeiros took over in 1969 after Cushing's death. He had been Bishop of Brownsville, Texas, for four years.
Madeiros' "kingmaker" was Bishop Thomas Gorman of Dallas who had known met Madeiros at a session of Vatican II.
Interestingly, Madeiros tabbed a young priest in Fall River to get his degree in Canon Law in Rome in 1964; that young priest later became my bishop, Joseph Delaney in Fort Worth.

I believe you are confusing Egan who is the Archbishop of NY with Thomas Daily who is Bishop of Brooklyn and who was in Boston with Law.

WHICH American cardinal recently disclosed ......Are we sure it's ONLY one???

This is so true. And the believers in each denomination seem to be agreeing on many, many, things, now, in the midst of this scandal, FWTW.
It is not a fun time to be a Catholic, but the time to exorcise these demons is right now.

I think that we're born gay or straight I think no one knows. Jung ascribed it to the confusion of sexual roles, a confusion that is exceptionally pronounced in an industrial society. I think it is related to sexual immaturity due either to some hormone inbalance or to some social shock. But I don't know. What appalls me is the creation of a culture around what I think of as affliction. It reminds me of the pseudo-culture that deaf people have created, which refuses to adapt to the "hearing" world.
