As you say, it's hindsight. In the fray, I think it would be a hard call. Particularly with communications at the time so much less sophisticated. The fog of war.

Appreciate your thoughtful and well-said response. Whether they be related to religion or not, we share similar 'core beliefs' regarding life and the absolute absurdity of many UN stances. To allow nations to even participate in global dialogue without consensus 'definition of evil' is EVIL. Such a body can never presume to be 'just' in its decisions, only of a majority agreement lacking foundation. Non-principled nations lording over principled ones.(The end of civilization, as we know it)

I'm not sure what you mean about a threat. Perhaps you are a bit sensitive. Perhaps you were saying I should die because of a post I made on 9/11 entitled "You will Pay for This." (pulled)

Perhaps I was just being an asshole in response to something you said. At any rate, none of it is relevant to your nonsense here and I'm not sure why you brought it up.

As to "pulling your feet out of the fire." I remember twice. The most memorable was when you were telling everyone on Election night 2000 that you were going to go down in a hail of bullets because the election was stolen. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

Laz is confused. He doesn't have a point to make. Now that he's at least admitted to being in error I can tell you that I am a believer in Christ although I don't parctice any particular doctrine or attend church regularly. If I found a group of people who really followed Christ rather than Paul or something akin to Christian Pharisaical teachings, I might attend church.

So you are actually showing us that the court of Naval inquiry in fact avoided mentioning anything about Israeli motives.

"If I found a group of people who really followed Christ..."

There are some in just about every church and denomination that I have had the opportunity to visit, and there are many that follow Christ without even knowing it is him they are following. Call it Bible-based teaching, without knowing that the 'source' was, at one time, the Bible. And, there are many like you, Demidog, disappointed in the church, by the sinners and sins in and of the church, that find fellowship with relationship-minded people offering as great, or greater rewards, than the oftimes Pharisaical/hypocritical 'church'.

I appreciate your answering the 'religion' question. It, does, in and of itself, cause me to think more seriously about some of the 'Jewish' questions you have raised.

Grampa Dave and others will confirm that I have raised some questions about the 'courtesies' extended those at 'Global Crossing' and the 'ties that bind' many of its executives and officers.

Admiral Moorer's observations are quite correct. The Israel air forces had flown near the Liberty for the previous 8 hours. There is no way in hell that they couldn't know. Furthermore, the TP boats deliberately sank lifeboats as they hit the water.

I read elsewhere that they had straffed lifeboats that had sailors in them and apparently that was an exageration. At any rate, the point was not to get into a debate about the liberty. I am not sure why Ennes says that the Liberty is the only maritime incident of its type without a Congressional inquiry.

The reason I brought it up is as stated. It is one of those discussions just like the one started here that will get one branded an anti-Semite merely because you bring it up.

The slight of hand that goes on with you and your seminar poster buddies is amazing. If I post a picture of a kid targetted by IDF forces and that picture happens to be homed at hoffman's site - I'm obviously a fan....neat logic.

Nevermind that all of the so-called evidence for Al Dura's murder is not conclusive in the slightest as to which side shot him.

There might be some dispute there, but the children blown up in the botched assasination attempt? No dispute. However, you guys don't want to touch that subject with a ten foot pole. Let's scream "joo hater" instead. Much easier.

The 14 year old boy shot in the back after being taunted by IDF forces to come out and throw rocks? "Uh...that dude who wrote for Harper's is a bafoon and hates Israel..." LOL.

I say "Israel has strict gun control laws" and I have veronica claiming this isn't so (only to provide links to articles which confirm my statements) and to top it off, an Israeli chimes in and confirms that only ex-army can get licenses and even then one has to have a good reason, while claiming he is disagreeing with what I've said.

It borders on the insane. What's even more insane is that you people think you're helping your cause.

They ruled it was a case of mistaken identity, an accident, thus there would be not motive.

Since I've progressed from seminar poster to a "you guys" who accuses others of being "joo haters" I think I'll pass on the rest of your rant.

Truth is a bitch, isn't it.

As a reminder, this is the little girl who was murdered by brave Pali freedom fighters. She and her family are what the thread was about.

Bravo. Letting morally depraved leaders call the shots for civilized society is a form of slow societal suicide.

I've posted so much here, with distressingly little recognition. As far as I know, there's not a single dighton fan club -- at FR, Mossad HQ, or anywhere else. It's wonderful finally to be appreciated. Thank you, Stealthy, thank you.

Well, you finally did make an elite club, but I'm distressed I wasn't included. It's a severe blow to the ego not to be included on this Enemies List. Sniff, sob.

Well, Arlen Spector is a republican too, that doesn't make him any less of a menace. I'm not a republican and have never been able to understand why someone is tolerated because of party affiliation. Powell was the worst possible choice for Sec'state. That he is a liberal and is welcome in the GOP should make you rethink your party. When you support someone just because of what party they belong to, things are in a mess.

No, perhaps you wrote to me the following: "I didn't get to say it before. But f*** you, you stupid little p***k. If I ever see you in person and we haven't settled our differences, you had better see me first."

The implication of a physical threat is clear.

Perhaps I was just being an asshole in response to something you said.

Well now THAT goes without saying. In fact it appears that you 'just being an asshole' is a common thread weaved into most of your posts.

As to "pulling your feet out of the fire." I remember twice.

Please. Don't bother. I certainly don't want anything from you but your absence, aand I absolutely never did and never will want your 'help'.

Great leader my butt. We're Americans, ClancyJ. We don't elect leaders. The people who get elected to office here are employees, not leaders. Bush is just one of the hired help, not some leader who has arisen from the people as in a cheap novel.

Anyone who trusts a politician has his head up his butt. Anyone who likes a politician with only TV coverage of the politician to base his affection on is an idiot. What kind of government do you think the Constitution establishes, anyway? Read the document and tell me where you get the bizarre idea that the president "runs the country". That's lunacy. The president's job is to run one branch of the federal government, and even at that he has a set of clearly defined rules that he must follow. That's why a president is required to take an oath. Bush has ignored his oath of office ever since he was elected, just as Clinton did and just as his traitorous father did. He's an employee and a sorry one at that.

You TV addicts aren't fit to vote in our elections. If you want to worship royalty, move to England. If you won't do that then at least leave the rest of us alone when we refuse to bow and scrape before the hired help. You make me puke. Try learning what it means to be an American and then try to pretend you are one.

I'm not too full of a need to idolize President Bush. I respect him as a great leader, I like him, I trust him and I know that he will not be telling the press every minute item of the dealings within the government. Why, because the press is another of those trying to destroy him. I am willing to let him run this country and I know and have faith in his decisions. I may not always agree with him - but overall I couldn't ask for a better president.

Strange, this is precisely how I feel about our President, even as you make the point that you may not always agree with him.

That is exactly what I was doing in my post, but you made it out that I was a hater.

As I wrote, my concern was the arrogance of the Saudis. If Bush was not responsible for coddling them, that's fair for you to point out, and honest for me to say that I was mistaken.

But it is not something of insignificance to have a bigot from a foreign country come here and demand that we change our values for him.

What's the point of defending this country, if its values are not included in the defense ? Maybe in your corner of the woods, standing up for a fellow citizens' honor is not important, but in mine it is. Certainly more important than the feelings of some potentate who requires our women to protect him at home.

Yeah. I wrote that. I'd write it again or say it to your face if you were to repeat what brought that on. Why did you think it was neceswsary to drag it into the thread? Need some sympathy?
