Since the changes outlined in the articles above regarding the Israeli gun laws, almost everyone in the territories can own a gun, in addition to those who could before. The laws were loosened considerably.
To: scratchgolfer
Actually, virtually everyone in the territories could before, it was more restrictive within the green line.

If if anyone is destroying his chances for re-election, it would be himself and his double standard terrorist policy that people are starting to see through. Man, it's not my fault; it is his fault. So take a chill pill. No little one. The danger is to Israel. Your brand of "support" is driving many of us into the camp that believes the Palestinians may have a point after all. You and mouth foamers like you are the enemy of Israel and you need to have a muzzle. Support for what Israel is doing will not hold if you and your kind keep biting the ONLY hand feeding you.

Excuse me but the reports that veronica cited themselves stated that only the government class is allowed to keep firearms in their homes. Israelis are allowed to carry guns. Here is an URL and a relevant, in context, quote:
In Israel and Switzerland, for example, a license to possess guns is available on demand to every law-abiding adult, and guns are easily obtainable in both nations. Both countries also allow widespread carrying of concealed firearms, and yet, admits Dr. Arthur Kellerman, one of the foremost medical advocates of gun control, Switzerland and Israel "have rates of homicide that are low despite rates of home firearm ownership that are at least as high as those in the United States."

The Cato Institute, I'm sure we can all agree, is a credible organization. :)

Maybe this is more appropriate:
As his father attempts to shield him, Israelis shoot at 12 year old Mohammed Al Doura. He was killed shortly after this photo was taken.

The laws were loosened considerably. Depends on what you mean. According to the articles cited, the regulations simply expanded those who could keep guns in their homes to reservists who had reached the rank of Major, and veterans.

"Easily obtainable" and being allowed to keep guns in your own home are not mutually inclusive. Yes, citizens can borrow weapons if they are trained and if they are travelling to a dangerous area. They may not keep firearms in their own homes unless they are of the military or police class.

These vile people (demo last Saturday in DC) should all be IDENTIFIED AND, IF NOT CITIZENS, DEPORTED ON THE FAST BOAT TO CHINA. Let them see what happens to them when they put their filthy feet on the flag there.

Palestinian gunfire killed the boy in the picture you posted. A German TV program recently aired confirming that.

You are wrong and I suspect you know it. But I am not interested in your games.

These people think Israel should stop fighting terrorism too. Well, at least you have company!
To: Recovering_Democrat
Good link. And that, as they say, is that.
To: scratchgolfer
You are wrong I have been wrong before. Do you have a link to the law itself? It was one of the Israel seminar posters who explained the law to me and many other articles have confirmed that fact. Cato doesn't go into who can keep guns in their homes. The law does.

shoot the children in a hostage situation so they can get at the criminals If this were the case, the stand-off at the Church of the Nativity would have been over 3 weeks ago.Very well said. Also there would have been airplanes not tanks. No medicines, no women and children warned to leave the area. How dangerous is it for the Israelis to go in searching booby-trapped areas for the terrorists instead of throwing in grenades?

A German TV program recently aired confirming that. Do you speak German? Do you have a link or anything I can look at confirming that?
