Italy’s Catholic bishops are promoting a new Islamic education program that describes the Koran as the “revealed Word of God,” while Cardinal Matteo Zuppi has said Catholic religion classes should be treated as a “laboratory of culture and dialogue.”
On October 21, Zuppi, archbishop of Bologna and president of the Italian Bishops’ Conference (CEI), presented the new educational initiative, “Factsheets for Understanding Islam,” at an event in the Palazzo Borromeo – the seat of the Italian Embassy to the Holy See in Rome. Promoted jointly by the CEI, the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies, and the Italian diplomatic mission, the program is designed for teachers of Catholic religion classes in state schools.
Reflecting on his years as a religion teacher, Zuppi stated: “The only thing that was clear was that there was no need to teach catechism.” For this reason, according to him, Catholic religious education classes in schools should be conceived as a mere “laboratory of culture and dialogue.”
“The eleven sheets go beyond the usual clichés. They begin with ‘What Is Islam?’ and ‘A Brief History of Islam,’ then go on to address faith and theology [and] the Qur’an as the revealed Word of God,” Vatican News reported.

Created by a joint team of Catholic and Muslim experts who negotiated over differences to produce a single, mutually agreed text, the 11-module curriculum presents Islamic doctrine, including describing the Koran as the “revealed word of God,” under the pretext of eradicating “ignorance” and fostering social cohesion.
“I would send everyone to school, because there is remarkable ignorance [about Islam]…. The sheets represent the exact opposite of the clash of civilizations,” Zuppi added. He also praised the joint Catholic-Muslim text as a great “antidote to violence and ignorance,” while warning that news headlines critical of Islamic proliferation are “dangerous with islamophobia.”
The curriculum consists of 11 modules covering topics including “What is Islam?” “A Brief History of Islam,” Islamic theology, “following the example of the Prophet,” the Islamic concept of worship (‘ibāda), the Islamic concept of religious community (Ummah), Islamic spirituality, and interreligious dialogue.
Prominent Islamic organizations collaborated in drafting and reviewing the materials, including the Union of Islamic Communities and Organizations in Italy (UCOII), the Italian Islamic Religious Community, the Italian Islamic Confederation, and the Tevere Institute. During the presentation at Palazzo Borromeo, UCOII President Yassine Baradai cited his own experiences in his youth at a Catholic parish center as a “sign of openness which allowed him to better understand himself” as Muslim.
Father Alberto Gastaldi, director of the CEI National Office for Education, School, and University, defended the initiative by describing interreligious dialogue as “the very hallmark of Catholic educational commitment” and hailing the classroom as “the first true laboratory of dialogue.”
“In a school classroom, learning about Islam through reliable and respectful resources does not mean abandoning one’s own identity. Rather, it means practicing that integral humanism which knows how to make room for the other.… Interreligious dialogue is not an occasional concession,” Gastaldi declared.

In the synodal "church", first proselytism was a sin; now evangelization has been tossed aside and has been replaced by a "laboratory of culture and dialogue".
Welcome the "Church of Nice"!
Ping
So some guy invents a religion or whatever you want to call that murderous cult as real?
> Catholic religion classes should serve as a ‘laboratory of culture and dialogue.’ <
A laboratory of culture and dialogue and complete surrender.
They are afraid of the Mice.
Notice that the understanding of Catholicism is NOT being taught the other way.
The world has gone friggn insane!
And in Islamic schools in Italy ...?
Seminars on whether beheading, shooting, burning or stoning is best for the infidels who don’t bend the knee?

Image a boy who has read stories about lions in children’s books. And he has seen lions in cartoons. So this boy goes out to greet a pride of hungry lions.
That’s exactly what these Catholic bishops are doing here.
“...in the last days, even the very elect will be deceived...”
Now that the Bishops have studied the Koran, maybe they should study the Bible, if they haven’t burned them all.
Where’s the infallible Pope on this?
Even Leo X, for all his corruption and his unwillingness to at least listen to Luther, wasn’t apostatizing enough to hand over the church to Islam.
“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” (Rev. 14)
The Roman Church now exists to subvert God and advance satan’s agenda.
Notice this church’s “charities” have been instrumental in the importation of islam to America.
Evil. We all know who told that illiterate “prophet” Mohammad what to write in his book.
“fostering social cohesion” - a phrase with recent growth in usage which often portends a cure worse than the problem.
If it is the ‘revealed word of God’ then why does it not affirm Christ’s divinity?
Maybe the Pope is in the running for the 13th Imam?
Blasphemy!
The late prophetic Father Malachi Martin saw the Vatican for what as a fallen institution way back in 1996 when he published his book - Windswept House. He was a trained Catholic exorcist and could sense the supernatural evil forces that were adversely affecting the place way back in 1996.
I’m not Roman Catholic, but I have a copy of the current Catechism.
The text is 718 pages long, about 2/3 of which are explanatory notes and footnotes (mainly explaining the Biblical or historical sources for each cannon). I’m not counting the index or glossary and the rest.
So, the actual text is ~240 pages, with the big print version I got so I can actually read it.
It’s hardly a burden to read it.
