Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins has said officials at the Catholic Gonzaga University shut down her attempts to dialogue with a group of pro-abortion “reproductive justice” advocates that gathered to protest her visit to the campus.

“I was banned from tabling. The administration prevented students from coming inside to ask questions. ‘Catholic’ student protestors demanded the Church bend to abortion,” Hawkins said. “This indoctrination is happening on college campuses across America, including at ‘Catholic’ schools. Let’s be clear: you cannot be Catholic and support abortion. The backlash I faced here is in direct contradiction to the Church.”

The video shows Hawkins and her crew approaching a crowd of booing protesters, and observing one of their signs says “let’s talk.” Brooklyn, the president of the campus “reproductive justice” club, explained the sign was directed at students, whereas “we’re not necessarily interested in having a conversation with you and your team specifically.”

“But you actually support abortion, you’re at a Catholic school-” Hawkins observes, before someone in the crowd interjects, “we’re Jesuit.”

“Yeah that’s Catholic, last time I checked,” Hawkins shoots back. “It’s not a branch, it’s an order. Catholicism doesn’t have branches.”

Another student claims that “not every order focuses on education but we do,” to which Hawkins says, “sure, but every order of Catholics are pro-life.” A protester claims “you can be Catholic and not be pro-life,” to which Hawkins says “well then you’re sinning and you need to go to confession.”

Brooklyn admits the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that abortion is wrong, but maintains “we think that that should be changed.”

Soon after, an unidentified adult says “we’re going to cut this off” and begins herding the protesters to turn away.

“Oh, okay,” Hawkins reacts. “You guys banned the students from coming in to ask questions, and they have a sign that’s ‘let’s talk,’ and you’re not going to let me talk.”

Gonzaga University’s mission statement touts a “Catholic, Jesuit, and humanistic heritage and identity, through which it “fosters a mature commitment to dignity of the human person, social justice, diversity, intercultural competence, global engagement, solidarity with the poor and vulnerable, and care for the planet.”

The school’s Statement of Values commits to ensuring that “decision-making at all levels is in harmony with the expressed values and priorities of the Society of Jesus and the Catholic Church, as well as the highest standards of educational excellence”; and specifically affirms Catholic teaching that “Every person has a fundamental right to life.”

As the direct, intentional, and avoidable killing of innocent, living human beings, abortion is directly contrary to Christian principles. The Bible repeatedly condemns “murder” and “shed[ding] innocent blood” as “detestable to” the Lord, because “in the image of God has God made mankind.” Accordingly, since the first century, the Catechism of the Catholic Church has recognized abortion as a “moral evil,” complicity in which “constitutes a grave offense” carrying the “canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life.”

Yet several prominent Catholic educational institutions in the United States have been known to compromise or even outright flout Church teaching on the sanctity of human life. The Jesuit Seattle University, for example, has promoted student internships with Planned Parenthood, and last year hosted “abortion and birth doula” Grace Howard for a talk on the so-called “pregnancy police.”

The University of Notre Dame, meanwhile, has come under fire for mandating COVID-19 vaccines despite their use of fetal cells from aborted babies, insuring abortifacient birth-control methods, and inviting pro-abortion former president of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos to deliver its 2023 commencement address. Last year, Notre Dame sociology professor Tamara Kay lost a defamation suit against a campus newspaper that exposed her pro-abortion advocacy.

It should be mandatory expulsion of those who advocate killing babies.

The slow little, indoctrinated college morons aren’t happy unless they are outside a building somewhere wearing their Che’ Guevara and Macklemore T-shirts and blowing whistles, trombones and dildoes while throwing tantrums.

"I wonder if those “Reproductive justice” freaks would have been happy if their mothers had aborted them..."

Or strangled them as little children. Apparently that's OK, too.

It is outright fraud to have parents pay sixty to one hundred thousand dollars per year to send their children to an ostensibly “Catholic” college or university believing that their child with be receiving a Catholic education. Probably equally delusional to think that the hierarchy is not controlled by agnostic homosexuals.
