  Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance

Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,

Psalm 12[a]

For the director of music. According to sheminith.[b] A psalm of David.

1 Help, Lord, for no one is faithful anymore;
     those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.

2 Everyone lies to their neighbor;
     they flatter with their lips
     but harbor deception in their hearts.

3 May the Lord silence all flattering lips
     and every boastful tongue—

4 those who say,
     “By our tongues we will prevail;
     our own lips will defend us—who is lord over us?”

5 “Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan,
     I will now arise,” says the Lord.
     “I will protect them from those who malign them.”

6 And the words of the Lord are flawless,
     like silver purified in a crucible,
     like gold[c] refined seven times.

7 You, Lord, will keep the needy safe
     and will protect us forever from the wicked,

8 who freely strut about
     when what is vile is honored by the human race.

David was just a kid when he slew Goliath. He had been too young for the Army, the youngest of eight sons, so he had stayed home to tend his father's sheep, while his brothers all went to war. From the day he took the "Care Package From Home" to is brothers on the Front Lines, he was pressed into service to Saul. Saul was immediately consumed with jealousy over this young warrior, and , from the start, tried to manipulate and undermine him at every turn.

Everything Saul did, from throwing spears at David as he played his instrument (tough gig!), to using his own daughters to ensnare David into the family, was motivated by jealousy and paranoia.

It's probable that Jonathan, David's best friend, was well aware of his father's instability. He did his best to protect David, at the risk of being accused of disloyalty to Saul. It got so bad that David had to become a fugitive.

While he was on the run, David made some horrible alliances. Whether he was "in survival mode", or being just plain wicked, isn't really clear in Scripture. He did some terrible things during this period of his life. The brief passage of Scripture doesn't come close to the actual time line, as David didn't become king till he was 30 years old. In those days, that was "Middle Aged".

In many of David's Psalms, he cries out "How Long, Oh LORD?".

This phrase has become a lament throughout the ages, for people being persecuted for their Faith, people devastated by war or famine, or even people praying for a loved one's salvation.

"How Long, Oh LORD?". has been my own cry to God on more than one occasion.

The answer to "How Long" is in this same Psalm. The last three verses say:

6 And the words of the Lord are flawless, 
like silver purified in a crucible,
like gold[c] refined seven times.

7 You, Lord, will keep the needy safe 
and will protect us forever from the wicked,

8 who freely strut about 
when what is vile is honored by the human race.

The last few days, there has been a lot of "strutting about" in my area due to a high-profile murder case. It's been very disheartening to me, and I've felt free here to express my dismay over it. There are other places I frequent where I can't be as vocal about my feelings on the matter.

But, God's Word is always with me. It's a great comfort to me that I know God sees it all, and He WILL work it out. His words are like 24K Gold to me as I call them to mind. When I cry out "How Long?", His answer is "That's between ME and THEM. Seek YE First the Kingdom of God".

In other words,

"I GOT THIS."

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessed Is The Nation Whose God Is The LORD (Psalm 33)
