The Diocese of Pittsburgh has canceled its only remaining diocesan indult Latin Mass, at St Titus in Aliquippa, about to enter its 20th consecutive year, because according to Bishop Eckman, it "was only ever meant to be temporary." (Information from the X account of the Mason-Dixon Latin Mass Society, which published the grotesque letter below):

The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest moved into Pittsburgh in 2018; they have their own church and parish.
The bishop himself is directing anyone with an interest in the TLM to attend Mass there.
In other words, anyone in the Diocese of Pittsburgh who wants to attend a Traditional Latin Mass parish is not only free to do so, the bishop is encouraging them.
I do not know about the situation in Pittsburgh, but here in Phoenix, the ending of diocesan sponsored traditional Latin Masses means that our FSSP church, which was already at capacity, is now over-flowing. The folks who like in Glendale or Queens Creek may have athe better part of an hour’s drive, now.
Charlotte, North Carolina and Arlington, VA are two other dioceses forcing traditional Latin Mass goers in overcrowded, and often very distant buildings just to assist at Mass when things were working fine.
There was no need to stop something that was working.
I can’t think of a better way to send a message to the bishop, and to the Vatican … especially if the TLM apostolate is growing, and is flourishing financially.
Trust me when I say that this will do more to ensure a strong future for the TLM than you know.
I have attended Mass at the FSSP church in Phoenix several times during my travels out west; as you know, the demand was such that the parish expanded into a second church.
(This is similar to what the FSSP has done in Allentown, PA; one single FSSP parish now has two churches.)
It's taking time, but I think the growth in the TLM community will be much easier to measure if it takes place in the parishes that are exclusively TLM; there will be no denying the numbers as these parishes continue to expand in size.
Define "need" ... When the goal is to destroy the Church ... well ... a destroyer gotta do what a destroyer gotta do ...
