John 15:5-10 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me, he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
Father,
We thank You for Your gift of salvation. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, Your Word, the freedom we enjoy in this country, and the opportunities we have to share Your love and word with others.
Thank You for the safety and comfort of Your abiding presence. Give us the desire to come into closer fellowship with You. We ask that You would work in us to will and to do to abide in You and that Your words would abide in us. Let us bear much fruit for You as the times become more and more evil and dark.
We pray for those elected leaders who know You that You would strengthen them in the inner man, and that they would abide in You to make just and moral decisions. Keep them from the attacks of the enemy and let them work righteousness in the decisions they make. Protect their families as well.
May we live lives that that bring glory to You.
