Anyone watched this? I am always skeptical about this kind of programming, knowing who runs things in tinsel town. If it is accurate, and not someone’s “reimagining” of the Bible story I would watch it.
Thanks for posting! This series gets great reviews from all over. I don’t have any ‘streaming’ services, but I found that it could be purchased for $1.99 an episode on You Tube via Lionsgate.

Very well done. I recently watch the 2 seasons again. Samuel is badass and the Witch of Endor was creepy.
Nope, and never will. Hollywood depictions of the things of God are bound to be perverted beyond all recognition. What's spiritually criminal is that a lot of ignorant viewers will take what they see in this "series" as biblical history.
I watched it and thought it was good. In my opinion, the series generally stuck to the right biblical themes, but there was some drama and a couple laugh out loud moments where the producers added modern soap opera-type drama to the biblical epic. But overall, its good. It certainly doesn’t experience the curse of many conservative and religious movies and series of being boring and a D-list production. I’d say Michael Iskander and Stephen Lang give standout performances, but most of the cast does very well. If religious and conservative media producers produce more content like this, the better.
My wife and I watched it and I would recommend it.

Which my wife wanted to watch after we watched the David series. We turned off the movie about twenty minutes in because it was so bad it was laughable.
The good: Great in production, music, drama, action. I like how actor Ali Suliman plays King Saul as he's going crazy. And some things not specifically mentioned in the Bible, where the show writers can have some artistic liberty, are done well. For example, they made up a neat story for how Goliath wound up having a military relationship with the Philistines. That wasn't contrary to the Bible, because the Bible doesn't say how that happened. They also mention the iron age impacting the Jews (again, not stated in the Bible, but we know it from history). The same for strained personality conflicts we know from the Bible (i.e. the drama of Jonathan being torn between loyalty to his father or to David).
The bad: Very little spiritual lesson. They seem to throw in trusting in God only as a cliche. And I'm not a fan of the series giving jedi-like powers to the prophet Samuel like he's OB1-Kenobe.
Witch was creepy and so was Agag.
The few clips I have seen made it look like absolutely ridiculous, over the top comic book nonsense.
It’s really a completely different genre than what it purports to be.
The first two seasons were excellent, the best Bible based series I’ve seen. The entire cast are first rate, production values top tier, scripts smart and faithful to the sources, no woke or DEI bs. Highly recommended.
