Pope Leo XIV on Tuesday named Monsignor Christian Würtz, an auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Freiburg, who has a history of supporting homosexual “blessings” and contradicting the Church’s teaching on homosexuality, as the next bishop of Eichstätt.
Würtz, 55, was among the 38 German bishops in 2023 who voted in favor of a document endorsing “blessings” for homosexual “couples,” as well as for the divorced and “remarried.” Six months earlier, Würtz supported the German Synodal Way’s heterodox “Doctrinal Reassessment of Homosexuality” document, which falsely called homosexual acts “not sinful” and “not intrinsically evil.”
“I am looking forward to my new role,” Würtz said in an official diocesan statement.
“It is a beautiful coincidence that my appointment takes place on the feast day of St. Willibald, the patron saint of the Diocese of Eichstätt. I hope that, with my experience and abilities, I can also contribute to building the Kingdom of God in Eichstätt and walk alongside the people here,” he added. “I thank Pope Leo for the trust he has placed in me and am now looking forward to getting to know the people in the diocese.”

Welcome to the Synodal Church, with its Big Tent for all!
Ping
Yeah, I bet you're into role playing. His nickname at catechism was Hide The Wurst Wirtz.
Todos todos todos (excepto los tradicionalistas).
“with its Big Tent for all!”
Except for Latin Mass
Issued by Pope Saint Paul VI on July 25, 1968, Humanae Vitae (Latin for “Of Human Life”) is a papal encyclical that reaffirmed the Catholic Church’s traditional teaching against artificial contraception, abortion, and sterilization.
It emphasized that every marital act must remain open to the creation of new life.Beyond birth control, the document outlined the Church’s holistic view of marriage and sexuality, detailing several core points:
Inseparable Meanings: It taught that marital sex has two inseparable aspects—the unitive (bringing the couple together) and the procreative (openness to having children). Breaking this connection, the Pope argued, compromises the true nature of married love.
The encyclical did not mandate having as many children as possible. Instead, it endorsed responsible parenthood and stated that couples could morally space their children by using natural family planning methods based on the woman’s biological, infertile cycles.
Warnings for Society: The Pope made several, often-discussed predictions about the societal consequences of accepting artificial contraception, including a general lowering of moral standards, an increase in marital infidelity, a loss of respect for women by men, and the potential for governments to coerce citizens into reproductive measures.
The release of the document caused significant controversy and debate both within and outside the Church, as many Catholics at the time had hoped for a relaxation of the rules following the introduction of the birth control pill.
Do we have a gay or tranny Pope now?
“[Catholic Caucus] Pope Leo appoints German bishop who endorsed homosexual ‘blessings,’ claimed sodomy ‘not sinful’” Ebb, I think there is a problem in the Catholic Church, the Bible is pretty specific.
“Not great, Bob!”
comarative relition is very interesting, I’m reading about Hinduism now..
but I’m not the pope. stay in your own lane, LEO.
Yep!
Lots of Popes, kings, emperors as well as Caliphs etc have tried to destroy the Church.
They fail each time.
The reason?
Christ protects his bride.
Nothing other than God’s gracd
It led to my exit from the church. at the time, I was going to some very pleasant group in a building on the campus of local catholic. university. always got seriously yuk feeling while passing a certain building on the beautiful, wooded campus.
tiurned.out to be the home of defrocked pedophile priests. disgusting.
I went to a different catholic Uni and the priests totally detested me because I was smarter than the boys. No church for me now.
Leo is a queer homo!
If true as stated, this is straight up wicked.
I've come across a couple of interviews about the SSPX that describe how the SSPX makes it a point to constantly push negative news about the Catholic Church; it is a tool that they use to justify to themselves and to others why they remain in schism.
This is an interesting interview, but the pertinent part is between 34:16-36:30; this is where the priest points out the SSPX tactic of repeating constant negative news about the Catholic Church with the rejoinder, "See? It's a crisis. The SSPX is justified."
This is another interview with a lawyer who once attended an SSPX chapel; the relevant part is from 34:16-36:30. He points out the same practice of the SSPX: Push one negative news story after another, and then claim that the SSPX is justified. ("Look it's a crisis. The SSPX is justified. Ignore the fact that the Pope has just declared our bishops to be excommunicated. Ignore the fact that members of the SSPX who adhere to the group are in schism themselves. What's important is that there is a crisis, so all of the SSPX actions here are justified.")
As long as the group remains in schism, they have nothing to lose by throwing these stories out on a daily basis.
