Holy God,
We rejoice in You, Lord, and we lift up our hands in thanksgiving and praise. During this week in which we continue to celebrate the birthday of our nation, we think about the faithfulness You have shown America from its very beginning. There has never been a day when we have not been blessed by our Mighty Father, Who has brought us through trials, troubles, victories, miracles, and blessings that have been far more than we could possibly count. For blessed is this nation whose God is the Lord. May Your righteousness always exalt these United States as we stand on the truth of Your Word. Lord, as we look through the history of our beloved America, we thank You for those who have stood strong in their faith, who trusted in You to stand with them in times of battle, who sought Your wisdom and guidance when they needed direction , and those who boldly declared that America is, was, and will continue to be a nation whose God is the Lord.
We thank You for the sacrifices of all those who have defended our nation over the years---those who laid down their lives for those people did not even know. O Dearest Lord, how can we not be grateful? How can we not offer You praise for all You have done to lead us? How can we not choose to bless You by proclaiming Your Name as the Eternal God of the Universe?
We pray that You would raise up a voice in our nation that would rally the body of Christ and cause us to become the standard bearers to such a degree that we would profoundly affect the morality of our nation and this world. Help us, Father, to stand firm on Your wisdom and truth all the days of our lives.
May Your hand guide our President in the way he should go. May the words of his mouth and the meditations of his heart be acceptable in Your sight. We pray that You would give President Trump the spirit of discernment, understanding, wisdom and knowledge so that he would make wise decisions for our nation and those in the world affected by America in any way.
And so we thank You for the joyful celebration, Precious Lord. To everything there is a season and in this season we ask that You help us to never take for granted our freedoms and blessings. Help us to set our minds on the assignment given us. Should our Lord and Savior tarry, may the next decades find Your people sharing the Gospel with more and more throughout the world.
Blessed are You, our immortal, invisible, always wise God. Guide us, Great Jehovah, that we may honor and bless You in our personal lives, as citizens of this nation, and one day as citizens of heaven. Our deepest and sincerest thanks to You, Father, for truly blessing America. In the Name of our Great and Mighty Jesus Christ. Amen.
