“If my people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14
Day 1: Thank God for the miracle that is the United States of America.
America’s very beginnings were forged in miracle after miracle. From the founding of our nation through a covenant with the Almighty, to our prayer-soaked founding documents, to seeing God’s deliverance in the Revolutionary War, our nation was birthed through a miracle. Recount these Divine encounters and give thanks for our miraculous beginnings. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen as His heritage! (Psalm 33:12)
Day 2: Honor God for the many miracles He has done throughout our 250 years.
For 250 years, Americans have enjoyed God’s great enduring protection and purpose for our nation. Thank God for the miracles and answered prayer in times of war, in times of disaster and famine, even in times of cultural challenges and turmoil. God’s miracles were not only prolific in the birth of our nation, but continued as we appealed to Him in prayer as a nation. And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. (Psalm 50:15)
Day 3: Seek God’s eyes to see the miracles unfold in our current days as a nation.
Our greatest days are not behind us as a nation. God continues to work miraculously among His people in our nation--and as a nation. Pray that these stories of God’s fingerprints on our nation today would serve as sources of hope and a reminder to Americans of His continued godly purposes for our nation. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. (Romans 12:12)
Day 4: Ask God to continue His miraculous works in His people and in our nation today.
We will never be a nation that doesn’t need God. As an American, invite the Lord to have His way with our country. Ask God to do it again-- perform miracles of renewal, unity, purpose, and reclaim past works of God. You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)
Day 5: Appeal to the Lord for national renewal.
There are periods in our nation’s 250-year history during which pockets of the country have experienced spiritual awakenings. As you pray, appeal to the Lord for an outpouring of renewal in our nation that would have a national impact. The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. (Psalm 145:18)
Day 6: Pray for lasting fruit and generational impact for God’s purposes.
Pray that future generations would look back and see this as one of the salient points in our nation, and a turning point for spiritual growth and honoring God as a nation. We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and His might, and the wonders that He has done. (Psalm 78:4)
Day 7: Pray a personal prayer of rededication of our nation back to God.
America’s rededication is not only proclaimed by our leaders at the highest levels, but also by its citizens. Offer a prayer of rededication for your corner of the nation--your home, family, community, and state. Humbly ask God to restore our nation and for His purposes to be fulfilled for our country. If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves, and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
