Despite The Distorted Claims Of Many, Hitler Was Not ‘A Christian’

Was Hitler a Christian? Historical evidence reveals his hostility toward Christianity and helps answer a common objection raised against the faith.

Despite the fact that Adolf Hitler had a Roman Catholic background, he became adamantly anti-Christian and believed in evolution. As other dictators have done, he took over the churches and used their organizational structure to influence the citizens—though the teachings allowed were anything but biblical. William Shirer, who chronicled the Nazi regime, stated that “the Nazi regime intended eventually to destroy Christianity in Germany” and substitute paganism.

Hitler’s vision for Germany was defined in a thirty-point program for the “National Reich Church,” which “categorically claims the exclusive right and the exclusive power to control all churches within the borders of the Reich.” Some of the points of the program include the following: The National Church is “determined to exterminate irrevocably the Christian faith”; churches have no pastors or chaplains but only National Reich orators may speak in them; publishing and dissemination of the Bible must immediately cease in Germany. The National Church declared that “the Fuehrer’s Mein Kampf is the greatest of all documents” and “embodies the purest and truest ethics for the present and future life of our nation.” Therefore, churches must remove all Bibles and crucifixes, only Mein Kampf may be on the altar, and all crosses must be replaced by “the only unconquerable symbol, the swastika” (W. L. Shirer, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, p. 240).

The NAZI party was birthed in a gay bar in Munich. Former German military officers, many kicked out of the military for buggery, met to plan their political future in the failing Weimar Republic. This partly explains their visceral hatred of Christianity

He was a Darwinist who believed you could breed a godlike race if you eliminated the weeds. Jews, gypsies, and blacks were on the bottom of his evolutionary tree.

Hitler was also big into government run schools and many “green” causes. NOT a Catholic/Christian. But anyone with a brain (which excludes most Democrats) knew that.

I think you’re almost certainly right under the “know them by their fruit” model of reasoning.

He did make a big show about being a pious Catholic with the death of his mother along with other very public events.

I guess we never know what is in anyone’s heart. Faith requires but a mustard seed. Not for me to judge.

But if I could place a wager, I’d demand 999 to 1 odds for any bet, as his Christian sincerity seems absurdly unlikely.

By your fruits you will be known. (Matthew 7:16)

This should slam the door on any serious debate.

But all the atheists in the Bolshevik movement who had been born into Jewish families were, of course, as Jewish as Abraham. Which is how Germany somehow taking revenge for the slaughter of Russian Christians by these atheistic Jews during the Great Terror somehow makes sense. That Germany intended to also kill every last Russian, Christian or otherwise, made no difference.

AGREED! I fight with many on other web pages about Hitler wrapping himself in a Christian mantle till he got complete POWER, then threw off the mantle and showed he was a PAGAN.
First read of it in Rise and Fall of the Third Reich and later found this web page.

Hitler made statements that for a religion for Germany that thought would have been better if Islam had prevailed in Europe. He thought it was much more a “warrior relgion” then “meek Christianity”. The words in quotes are as i best remember them are his words.

All socialism is rooted in atheism. Completely antithetical to anything Christian.

He did make a big show about being a pious Catholic with the death of his mother

His mother died when he was 18, 12 years before his political career started. There's little-to-no evidence for him practicing any form of Christian faith as an adult.

“By their fruit ye shall know them”

His works were of the evil one, not God. Thow shalt not murder (its murder, not kill). Murder is from the evil one.

Well, obviously. He was involved in the occult, too. Some Catholic exorcists think he was a textbook example of “perfect possession” (someone possessed by a demon so completely that there is no longer any internal struggle and no obvious signs of possession).

According to Grok research, the 30-point plan existed but was not formally adopted. Two Nazis were associated with the plan were Rosenburg and Bildt.

I’ve wondered about the Jewish/Bolshevik connection. I asked Grok to report on the subject. Yes, Jews were overrepresented, but still a minority of the Bolsheviks. Percentages varied by year, etc. The percentage of Jewish-born members were higher for the Mensheviks. However, the pattern remains clear - a minority in all cases. 5% seems to be a pretty good number for the Bolsheviks.

I recognize that Grok is no better than its sources. GIGO still applies. If Grok is not aware of valid sources or accepts faulty sources, it would flow down to conclusions. The same applies to you or me.

The high-water mark of Jewish involvement in communism may have been the Marx/Engels partnership (50% Jewish by birth). Then again, I haven’t examined the staff at Columbia University or the New York Times.

This lunacy is based in the concept IIRC of Positive Christianity, which was designed specifically to distort Christianity away from the Gospels. IOW, its un-Christian; or at least “Christianity on my own terms as an Aryan”.

There’s a Wiki page about it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positive_Christianity

The Nazis were Christians in pretty much the exact same way that Rachel Dolezal is black.

Unfortunately, that’s not true (not the time of death, but his big shows).

There’s ample photographic evidence and even movies of him putting on quite the big displays of piety, including an elaborate memorial for his mother.

Martin Luther, the German founder of the Protestant Reformation, laid much of the groundwork for Adolf Hitler.

Hitler quoted Martin Luther's books like "On the Jews and their Lies" in "Mein Kampf."

Luther advocated for manual labor, expulsion of the Jews, and prohibit rabbis from teaching.

German bishops and clergy like Martin Sasse in events like Kirstallnacht, cited Martin Luther as well.

By the turn of the century, Darwinism became absorbed into theologies about Genesis and race, and Jesus was presented as Aryan.
