What Do Extreme Poverty and Scarcity have to do with the Richest Country on Earth?
New American Prophet ^ | June 3, 2026 | Michael Bresciani

America has experienced stock market crashes, great depressions, and other national financial or economic emergencies. As we enter our 250th anniversary, it seems that we’re no stranger to economic difficulty.

But there’s something about pride that keeps America from facing up to the fact that she’s sliding down the tubes. Add to that the fact that we have someone at the helm of this nation in the person of President Donald Trump that helps us to feel a little bit extra confident about our economic future. He’s experienced, he’s rich, and he constantly puts the welfare of this nation at the top of his list of important matters.

Ah, what could go wrong?

Everything could go right. Everything could go wrong, but it is pride that makes us think we can push 17 to the dealer.

America isn’t the richest or wealthiest country in the world anymore. We are the most indebted! $40 trillion and growing!

Compared to every other country on Earth, since beginning of time, “extreme” poverty does not exist in the US.

Get out of your sheltered blue city and go visit 90% of the rest of the world.

A co-worker had a job in Lagos, Nigeria, some years back. In the middle of the city and along the street of the nice (Western) hotels. She told me about having to walk past a corpse laying in the gutter between her hotel and visiting office. For days.

Pampered children of America do not know what the world is like.

Precisely. I think Alabama has a higher GDP than Canada. Our poor would be rich in over half of the world. Scammers are working to get $3 off Americans because that is good money in India. You can get a Virtual Assistant there for $3 an hour.

To answer the question in the title:

It has to do with chaos, hopelessness and dissatisfaction being the desired, requisite background for the anti-MAGA effort. See for one example, defunding the police.

Let's let the expert explain.

But what the honorable member is saying is that he would rather the poor were poorer provided the rich were less rich. That way you will never create the wealth for better social services as we have. And what a policy. Yes. He would rather have the poor poorer provided the rich were less rich. That is the Liberal policy. Yes it came out. He didn’t intend it to but it did.

Being robbed by enemies within and without isn’t a great way to run things.

I use to help the homeless giving them food and whatnot. No more. Every shop, restaurant, and factory in the region has a “now hiring” sign up. If you are a bum in this country, it is because you want to be a bum. No excuses, especially after the trillions of dollars wasted on welfare for bums.

I hopped a boat to Corregidor in the Philippines that was recommended by the MWR office and as i was getting into the catamaran kids were playing in the water with trash and a dead dog floating in the surf. check out the Ganges for floaters, things we take for granted un the US. 60% of Indians don’t know what a toilet is.
