Does Bible prophecy have dual fulfillment?
Bible Hub ^

Posted on 04/26/2026 6:21:28 PM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

The discussion of “dual fulfillment” centers on whether a single prophetic statement can apply to more than one event or time period. Various passages throughout the Bible indicate that, while a prophecy might have had an original or partial fulfillment in the short term, it can also point forward to a more complete or ultimate fulfillment at a later time...

1. Isaiah 7:14 and the Virgin Birth

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel.”

The immediate historical background involved a sign given to King Ahaz of Judah when facing threats from surrounding nations (Isaiah 7:1-2). Some scholars see an initial fulfillment in a child of that era, possibly pointing toward Isaiah’s own family or another figure... Yet in later Scripture, Matthew 1:22-23 explicitly identifies Jesus’ birth as the ultimate realization...

2. The “Abomination of Desolation” (Daniel and Jesus’ Discourse)

Daniel 11:31 and 12:11 speak of an “abomination that causes desolation.” Historically, many see an initial fulfillment in the actions of Antiochus IV Epiphanes (2nd century BC), who desecrated the Jerusalem Temple by sacrificing pigs on the altar. Yet, in Matthew 24:15-16, Jesus references Daniel’s prophecy in a future sense... This points to an impending destruction (initially in AD 70) and possibly portends yet another final fulfillment still to come...

3. Day of the LORD Prophecies...

Partial vs. Complete Fulfillment...

For example, the prophecies in Isaiah addressing the restoration of Israel after the Babylonian captivity (Isaiah 44:28-45:1) were historically fulfilled when Cyrus the Great allowed the Jewish people to return from exile. Beyond that immediate event, the broader restoration theme in Isaiah also appears to anticipate the coming of the Messiah...

Bible prophesy does have dual fulfillment.

And it has more than that.

God and the HS are not limited by the number 2.

Ecclesiastes 3:15

That which is, is what has already been, and that which will be has already been. And God requires an account of what is past.

Daniel misspelled it. It is the “The Obamanation of Desolation” and wasn’t fulfilled until 2009. /s

How is this even debated, the idea that God is somehow so limited that he cannot speak a prophecy that is so accurate and dense with insight that it can predict multiple events across time is utterly silly, perhaps even blasphemous.

God has no such limits and his word is infinite.

The crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the God man, was the most abominable act in history, and my sin caused it. The dome of the rock and it’s blasphemies don’t hold a candle to it.

Doesn’t that sound so passionate and spiritual? But it is nonsense.

If you can find a single verse in scripture that bears witness to a dual prophesy, then quote it.

You can’t. It is not there. It is there only by commentary somebody papered in.

Many years ago, I was able to tour the inside of the Dome of the Rock. I believe it’s restricted today, I could be wrong.

Lookup whats written in the script on the building, and yes it is speaking great things against the Most High God about his only begotten Son Jesus and against his Mother Mary. It is a profane place to the north of where I believe the actual Temple Stood.

Regarding this article,

Prophecy only appears to be patterns and certainly if that were true, repeating patterns.

What it really is, and how it manifests beyond the ultimate fulfillment as a shadow of things to come, often more than once, is because it is HIS authority (the Holy Word being THE Authority) by our committed faith actions to interact and operate and allow Gods perfect Will to be inserted directly into this dead and fallen physical world by the Holy Spirit (of Promise) working through us. Satan seeks the same by our summoning and engagement for his own evil authority to manifest his will.

This allows God a place to stand by his Spirit without the immediate consequences of our sin and death visited upon us. What I mean by that is this:

When God came down on Mount Sinai in Exodus Chapter 19, directly and ‘physically’ in a manner we recognize as standing on that mountain. The entire mountain top was burning, shaking and filled with pillars of smoke. The horn of the first trump, (the Trump of God) was sounding louder and louder frightening everybody in the camp. ANYTHING that crossed the boundary Moses was instructed to set, human or not, crossing the stone markers, would die. God even instructed Moses to go back down the mountain a second time and tell the people not to cross the border. God was protecting someone in that camp.

God operates though authority and our belief as being a truth unto itself as the means to interdict, interject and save us. When Eve and then Adam fell, the world was dead in one day and dying by the minute. There was no way to restore the world (Satan thought) yet God made a way where there was no way. Communicating through his Angels to his Holy Prophets, via his Holy Spirit and in our dreams and visions.

God created a Holy mechanism (The Law of Moses) by using a peculiar people that could pull it off across centuries of time by using the punitive measures within it to keep it legal to the Court of Heaven which will later adjudicate at the time of the end. And while knowing Israel could never keep it any other way. Which would then, once the fullness of time was reached, allow God to INSERT HIMSELF into it, to be born into this Earth, be born the seed of a Woman, as a Son of Man, to become our Kinsman Redeemer, taking all Sin upon himself, paying the price and restoring himself by his own hand as the Jubilee release manifested into the flesh and bringing this dead world back to life and in good favor to as many as WILL today receive it. That part is finished, complete. Jesus is our High Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek and will take us (believers in Messiah) to the city of refuge.

The Father said, “Not by My might or by My Power but by My Spirit”

Jesus said “the volume of the Book is written of Me”

If God acted directly by standing on this Earth right now in front of us this moment, appearing in all his Might and Power and Glory to full effect. This world would melt, quake, consume itself in fire and smoke and fly away from his Presence and his Throne. It would immediately be over for the Earth dwellers.

He is operating in this distant manner with the authority of Prophecy by HIS SPIRIT ONLY in order to protect us all, for our benefit only, and as the ONLY means to save us all. There was no other way.

Christ quoted the scripture himself Isiah 61:2 He stopped after the comma becuase he came first to save and he comes next in judgement. Same verse addresses 2 different returns of Christ.

Now your turn, show the verse that says Scripture is so limited.

Isaiah Chapter 61

1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

The thread was about the supposed duality of prophecy. There is no duality in that verse and its application by Jesus.

Now, your turn. Where is the duality of prophecy?

I literally just told you that Isiah 1:2 Christ reads it.The day of the lord and then stops at the comma and then it talks about vengeance, clearly that verse speaks of 2 comings of Christ.

Same verse 2 different commings of Chrst, 2 different times prophesied. I haclve now twice provided the insight that the spirit has given me on that Scripture. All you have done is presented one challenge, that I answered, then cut and pasted scripture. You have yet to provide any rationale or reason.

Specifically, explain how Isaiah 61:2 only speaks to only 1 coming of Christ as Christ is not yet returned in vengeance.

Does Bible prophecy have dual fulfillment?

TL DR: "An Eclipse Never Comes Alone!"

If ya have to ask about there being one other, I don't suppose "70 faces" will be able to compute.

Good topic for profit-ic "intel", however.

Where's the ע in common, the vision?

So, how's your morning?

Here, "as I write this letter":

PARIS is the "City of Light"

P🦁S

Ezekiel 39

6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel [עמי ישראל]; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One *in* Israel.

And yet people wonder where's the Messiah, being the one for the total gathering together.

Hebrew-wise, U is ט is the corresponding letter of truth:

ט · · −

Also familiar in triplicate as 660 [את האור כי טוב], so "add the kollel" --

!טורה! טורה! טורה

The tora of the title, although literally meaning "tiger", is actually a two-syllable codeword that abbreviated the longer phrase totsugeki raigeki 突撃雷撃 ("lightning attack"), used by the invaders to indicate that complete surprise had been achieved.[4]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tora!_Tora!_Tora!

Who's really prepared?

"עַל", above:

From Building Blocks of the Soul, by Matityahu Glazerson, pg. 299 —

The Addition of the Kollel

Sometimes, in finding the numerical equivalent of a word, we increase the total by one. Rav Y.A. Chaver in Pitchei Sh’arim explains that in such cases the root of a word is still attached to the upper worlds, and therefore dependent upon them. When we add the kollel (= 1), we thereby note the word’s unique connection and dependence Above.

***

Recall also in 1970, exactly 3 months earlier, Oddball explained how to take on the three tigers...

"Look, Kelly, a Tiger has only one weak point. That's its 🫏. You've got to hit it point blank and you've got to hit it from behind"

Last words of the Tora: in the sight of *all Israel*.

That reminds me, if you are interested you can compare the Hebrew title of Kelly's Heroes to Judah's blessing:

Genesis 49:8 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be *in the neck of thine enemies*; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.

Ready for 5787? It begins at sundown of the 25th anniversary of 9/11. The year blessing writes itself!

"May it be a year of *pure gold*"

Strong's H6337:

פָּז pâz, pawz; from H6338; pure (gold); hence, gold itself (as refined):—fine (pure) gold.

pure gold: "A stronger synonym for golden or gem: of extreme quality, superb, above praise." (Urban Dictionary)

"Pure gold does not fear the flame."

Does Bible prophecy have dual fulfillment?"

If you kippah the Law:

To eclipse is to transcend. Time and Date makes sure to inform us that

An Eclipse Never Comes Alone!

The Moon reflects the light of the Sun, and there are these two men in the Moon sharing a common eye/ע.

Where's the ע in common, the vision?

You must have never read the gospels. Jesus proclaimed the day of vengeance on Jerusalem, wept over Jerusalem, etc. On his way to his crucifixion, he warned about it. Matt 24 he warned about it.

You are making my point if you count that as the day of vengeance, you must also count the day of vengeance on Christ’s return when he makes everything right. So there’s even more of a double entantree in that prophecy.

It would seem you’re the one who’s showing a lack of familiarity with scripture and isolating it

“You are making my point if you count that as the day of vengeance, you must also count the day of vengeance on Christ’s return when he makes everything right.”

Can you show me throughout the Old Testament when most acts of God were not a day of vengeance.

But, no, it ain’t gonna work. Again, the thread was about the supposed duality of prophesy. Again, cite just one little verse in the Bible that substantiates duality in prophesy. Would not something so essential for Bible understanding be mentioned at least just one time?
