🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(3/22/26)[Prayer]

A New Study For A New Year: Personalities
Exodus 2:11–25
11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.
12 And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
13 And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?
14 And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.
15 Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.
16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.
17 And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.
18 And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?
19 And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.
20 And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.
21 And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.
22 And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.
23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father Who Art in Heaven,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
How Blessed Are You, Oh LORD,
Our God, King of The Universe,
Who Has Brought Us To This Day!
We Come into Your Presence With Singing
and into Your Courts With Praise,
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The Host High;
You Alone Are The LORD of Hosts;
And You Alone Hold The Power of Life and Death in Your Hand.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

For years, the name "Jethro" was an enigma to me. I associated the name with a character on the TV Series "The Beverly Hillbillies", and I think that the name was chosen for the character based on its old-fashioned Bible-Belt sound. I honestly don't think that the writers intended to honor the Biblical Jethro when they created the bumbling rube who "gradjy-ated Sixth Grade and could cipher". Jethro Boudine had NO resemblance to the Biblical "Jethro".
Jethro (or Reuell), was Moses's Father-in-Law. He was probably a widower, and was blessed with seven daughters. In that culture, however, it may not have been such a blessing, as there are no sons mentioned. Even so, Moses would be providing him with grandsons, so there's that.
Jethro is described as "A High Priest of Midian". Midian was a son of Keturah, Abraham's second wife whom he married after Sarah passed away. Midianites were Sons of Abraham, just as the Ishmaelites were. As Children of Abraham, there may have been a remnant that worshiped the God of Abraham, even after over 400 years.
Moses, on the other hand, had been raised and educated as a Prince of Egypt. As an adopted son of Pharaoh, he may have even been considered an embodiment of Horus, the son of Osiris. While being nurtured at his mother's breast, he may have heard stories about the Hebrew God, but the bulk of his 40 year life had been spent as an Egyptian. Even his name was an Egyptian word that appears in the names of dynasties of kings ("Tutmoses", for example).
It was only because he had murdered an Egyptian Overseer that he had to flee for his life. he didn't go on a "Quest" to find the One True God, not was he seeking out his "roots".
He doesn't go back to Egypt for another 40 years. There are new speculations, based on the Biblical Narrative, that those 40 years were spent Learning about the God of Abraham, from one descended from Isaac's"Brother From a Different Mother".
This isn't implausible. I've been a Christian for over 40 years and I'm STILL learning new stuff!
Moses is a stubborn guy, though. It's going to take something BIG to shake him out of this new life and send him back to Egypt as the "Deliverer."
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Amen, good story and word. Didn’t know Jethro was related to Abraham, how about that. I thought his wife was dark, like and Ethiopian, no? OTH I do identify with Jethro Bodine Jr, a lot.

Moses did indeed marry a dark-skinned lady, but it was much later in the Exodus, long after Zipporah passed on.
Miriam sharply criticized Moses for his choice, and God punished her by afflicting her with leprosy for a brief time, during which her skin turned white with the disease.
Also, some theorize that Keturah was dark skinned. So the Midianites may have been a light brown color.
All of this shows God’s love for ALL people.

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
