🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(3/14/26)[Prayer]

A New Study For A New Year: Personalities

Genesis 42

42 Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, Why do ye look one upon another?

2 And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die.

3 And Joseph's ten brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt.

4 But Benjamin, Joseph's brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest peradventure mischief befall him.

5 And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan.

6 And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.

7 And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.

8 And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew not him.

9 And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, Ye are spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.

10 And they said unto him, Nay, my lord, but to buy food are thy servants come.

11 We are all one man's sons; we are true men, thy servants are no spies.

12 And he said unto them, Nay, but to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.

13 And they said, Thy servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not.

14 And Joseph said unto them, That is it that I spake unto you, saying, Ye are spies:

15 Hereby ye shall be proved: By the life of Pharaoh ye shall not go forth hence, except your youngest brother come hither.

16 Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely ye are spies.

17 And he put them all together into ward three days.

18 And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God:

19 If ye be true men, let one of your brethren be bound in the house of your prison: go ye, carry corn for the famine of your houses:

20 But bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified, and ye shall not die. And they did so.

21 And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us.

22 And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required.

23 And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for he spake unto them by an interpreter.

24 And he turned himself about from them, and wept; and returned to them again, and communed with them, and took from them Simeon, and bound him before their eyes.

25 Then Joseph commanded to fill their sacks with corn, and to restore every man's money into his sack, and to give them provision for the way: and thus did he unto them.

26 And they laded their asses with the corn, and departed thence.

27 And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass provender in the inn, he espied his money; for, behold, it was in his sack's mouth.

28 And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath done unto us?

29 And they came unto Jacob their father unto the land of Canaan, and told him all that befell unto them; saying,

30 The man, who is the lord of the land, spake roughly to us, and took us for spies of the country.

31 And we said unto him, We are true men; we are no spies:

32 We be twelve brethren, sons of our father; one is not, and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan.

33 And the man, the lord of the country, said unto us, Hereby shall I know that ye are true men; leave one of your brethren here with me, and take food for the famine of your households, and be gone:

34 And bring your youngest brother unto me: then shall I know that ye are no spies, but that ye are true men: so will I deliver you your brother, and ye shall traffick in the land.

35 And it came to pass as they emptied their sacks, that, behold, every man's bundle of money was in his sack: and when both they and their father saw the bundles of money, they were afraid.

36 And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

37 And Reuben spake unto his father, saying, Slay my two sons, if I bring him not to thee: deliver him into my hand, and I will bring him to thee again.

38 And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our One And Only God,
How Excellent,
How Wonderful,
and How Holy is Your Name!
You Alone Are Worthy Of Our Praise And Worship,
For Your Alone Are The Eternal,
Omnipotent, Omniscient Creator Of All Things!
The Nations Who Rage Against You
Are dust on the scales of Infinity,
Who are they to stand against Your Holy, Eternal Word?

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

Psalm 91

1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.

Because of work constraints, my husband and I didn't get to go on a Honeymoon till nearly ten months after our wedding. We lived in Jamaica Plain (a section of Boston), and at the time, it was not the chic, gentrified, mecca that it has become. In fact, back then, Jamaica Plain was considered the "Inner City". It was a tough neighborhood, but I remember it well because it is where I learned to ride a motorcycle, on a '68 Honda CB175. I went everywhere on that little bike, food shopping, the Laundromat, commuting into Boston, and so on. It was horribly under-powered for the way I used it, but it could go 60 mph if pushed it. It was a REAL motorcycle, not a moped or a scooter. Nevertheless, it was totally inadequate for a honeymoon trip to Nova Scotia, So we borrowed my Father-In-Law's car, a huge, brown, Oldsmobile Delta 88 that we nicknamed "THE MOOSE".

We loaded up the Moose, secured the motorcycle under the porch with lots of chains and padlocks, and drove to Portland, ME, where we boarded a ferry and spent 10 hours on the rough seas of the North Atlantic to get as far away from Jamaica Plain as we could imagine.

Sure enough, Nova Scotia seemed like a different planet. The atmosphere was different, the lifestyle was relaxed, and the conversation laconic and friendly. We had a wonderful time, and started to lose that "Inner-City Situational Awareness".

By the time we got to Cape Breton, we had mellowed out to the point where we picked up two hitchhikers. A young man and woman, about our age, gratefully got into the back seat of the Moose. We could tell that they were Americans, and their accents sounded familiar.

When I asked where they were from, they answered in unity:

"Jamaica Plain!"

We had a good laugh over that.

Upon our arrival home we determined that the Honda CB175 was inadequate. And so we traded it in for a bike twice the size, a '71 Honda CB350 (Now considered a CLASSIC). We never went as far as Canada on it, but did go on some camping trips to Cape Cod and The Berkshires. Now, I ride a Harley, and feel confident doing long-distance treks. I figured the old Honda CB175, a 55-year-old bike, is rusting away somewhere in an old basement or barn.

But...every morning at 6:30AM, when I am walking Tippy, two guys pass by, obviously on their way to work. Both are wearing reflective work gear. One is on a Honda CB350, and the other on a perfectly clean-looking '68 Honda CB175. I always give them a little "Biker-Wave".

When Joseph's brothers sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites, they thought they would never see him again. Their poor old Dad, Jacob, thought he was dead. There was no way they would ever run into him again.

But God had other plans.

This kind of thing has happened to me more than once. While in Hebron, Israel, I met an Arab boy who recognized my Boston Accent. He asked me if I knew his Uncle, who lived in Roslindale (a neighborhood in Boston). I didn't know his Uncle, but I actually LIVED in Roslindale at the time.

In Jamaica, I ran into someone who went to the Church where I had been baptized ten years earlier. In Florida, I met people who grew up in Mattapan (also a part of Boston), and we reminisced about the "Oriental" Movie theater that looked like a Chinese Village and the "Simco" Hot Dog Stand with the Foot-Long Hot Dogs.

Biker rallies were places where you ran into people from "home" as well.

The Story of Joseph may seem like a Tall Tale to people, when looking at a map. There was no Public transportation in those days, and no Electronic Communication to spread the news, but both news and people traveled around. There were Trade Routes, Caravans, Messengers, and Letter-carriers.

You have to behave yourself wherever you go, because it seems to me, you'll always run into somebody who knows your Mom and Dad.
