Holy God,
Everlasting is a long time. So many things we encounter are temporal: there are beginnings and endings; and yet You offer us something priceless that is eternal. Your love never fails, Lord. We cannot earn it; neither have You asked us to do so. You freely give for Jesus paid it all. You are our amazing God. Thank You for drawing us to You through Your loving-kindness and tender mercies. We exalt You and bless Your Name.
Father, we know it is not Your will that any should perish but that all may come to repentance. We pray that our President Trump and VP Vance, our military men and women, immigration agents, all first-responders, and all those in government holding positions of authority would not only be protected physically, but that they also would be drawn spiritually to You through the power of the Holy Spirit. We ask You to place people of faith in the paths of each one who has not yet accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and that each would have many opportunities to hear of You and learn about You. Father, may their years of service be years in which they not only seek You but find You and become Your disciples.
Lord, our nation continues to be in danger both physically and spiritually. Hear our prayers for those who have been so greatly deceived by the enemy, for those who choose to manufacture their own truth. Help us to love our neighbor as ourselves, but may we never allow the devil to define love for us. For surely he knows only his own lies.
Father, we are so grateful for our President who plans to rededicate our nation to You in D.C. on May 17. Thank You for the Constitution that was carefully fashioned with the help of the Holy Spirit and those who were willing to heed Your leading. Each of us has a responsibility to defend that which You have taught and to live lives that honor You no matter what messages the culture is speaking. Help us, Lord, to seek a higher level of life and victory through You. It is so easy to sink to the lure of worldliness. Help us to remember that we are citizens of heaven and not of this world. Lord, keep us strong and faithful until the day of Christ’s return. May we spread Your love throughout all the earth. Help us to love as You have loved us. We ask this in the powerful Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.

Kontakion
When You, O God, shall come to earth with glory, / all things shall tremble / and the river of fire shall flow before Your judgment seat; / the books shall be opened and the hidden things disclosed! / Then deliver me from the unquenchable fire, / and make me worthy to stand at Your right hand, Most Righteous Judge!
Matthew 25:31-46 (Gospel)
31
When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
32
All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
33
And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34
Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35
for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36
I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37
Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?
38
When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?
39
Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’
40
And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
41
Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
42
for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
43
I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
44
Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’
45
Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
46
And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
saw this today on Facebook - encouraging all here who fight the spiritual battle for America:
“There is a reason the Books of First and Second Kings disturb modern Christians, and it is the same reason they disturb modern governments. Those books prove beyond argument that God does not merely watch history. He interrupts it. He removes kings. He raises shepherds. He humbles empires. Scripture says plainly, “He removeth kings, and setteth up kings” (Daniel 2:21). That statement is not poetry. It is policy. Every throne on earth exists on borrowed time, and every ruler answers to a higher throne whether he acknowledges it or not.
The modern world teaches you that power flows upward from the people. God teaches you that power flows downward from Him. Pharaoh learned it. Nebuchadnezzar learned it. Ahab learned it. When a king defied the Word of God, he did not lose power because of political opposition. He lost power because heaven revoked his permission to sit there. “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another” (Psalm 75:6–7). Every rise and every fall is a spiritual event before it is ever a political one.
This is why the prophets terrified kings more than armies did. Ahab feared Elijah more than he feared Syria. Herod feared John the Baptist more than he feared Rome. Why? Because a prophet carried something no army could carry: the authority of the Word of God. One sentence from heaven outweighed ten thousand soldiers on earth. When Elijah said dogs would lick Ahab’s blood, no military strategy on earth could prevent it, because the outcome was already decided in the courtroom of eternity (1 Kings 21:19).
Nothing has changed. The same God who ruled in the days of Kings rules now. Nations still rise. Nations still fall. Leaders still think they are in control, but heaven still holds the leash. The question is not whether God is involved. The question is whether you recognize it. Because the same God who removes kings also saves sinners, and the same authority that topples thrones can rescue a soul. History is not random. History is ruled.”
