A quirky film called "Adaptation", featured Nicholas Cage playing twin brothers who are screenwriters. In my humble opinion, it was one of Cage's finest performances, as you always knew which was which even though the twins were played by the same actor. The differences in make-up and costume were minimal, but the differences in Personality showed a side of Cage's Acting Ability that I'd never seen before. I haven't seen the film since it came out in 2002, but I remember it well. It made quite an impression on me.

As many of us can attest, simple DNA does NOT determine "Personality". Identical Twins share the same DNA, look nearly the same, and are sometimes hard to tell apart...UNTIL they speak or act. Then we see the "Personality", which is always different.

Jacob and Esau were probably Fraternal Twins, meaning each brother had his own DNA. These two had nothing in common except their Birthday. They had different voices, physiques, and interests. Their parents each favored one over the other. Esau was the eldest, if only by a few minutes, and his father Isaac's favorite. Jacob struggled with his older brother even in the womb.

Esau had something that Jacob wanted, and Jacob would do anything to get it. Evidently, Esau didn't value his Birthright very highly, or he would have made his OWN soup!
