Luke 1:39-45

Mary Visits Elizabeth

39 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, 40 where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

Heavenly Father,
How Wonderful is Your Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
How We Love to Sing Your Praises,
How we love to give You The Glory.
Rock of Ages,
Our Strength and our Song,
Our Refuge in Times of Trouble,
Our Rock and Our Redeemer.
How Wonderful Are Your Precepts.
How Precious Is Your WORD.
How Eternal and Sure Are Your Promises!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,

I noticed that Mommy was getting really FAT. I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to hurt her feelings, but she was getting so FAT she had to wear special clothes to cover it up! Then I noticed the bottle of blue and pink "vitamins" on the kitchen windowsill. I vaguely remembered Mommy getting real FAT once before, and the pills were on the windowsill back then too. Then, I remembered that my beloved little sister Janet was born around that time. Now Mommy was FAT again, and there were the pills, so I asked (in my innocent little way):

"Mommy, are we gonna get another BABY?"

Mom was shocked. She had not yet had the "Talk" with me, and I had never asked her where babies came from. But, her philosophy of Child Care was:

"If you're Old Enough to Ask, you're Old Enough for the Truth."

There were no stories of cabbage patches or storks, just a happy story of a baby growing in Mommy's Tummy until he or she is ready to come into the world. That satisfied me...for a while anyway.

I waited till I was a wee bit older before I asked how the baby got there in the first place.

Those were gentler times. People didn't talk about intimate matters in public, and allowed children to remain innocent until they were ready to "ASK". They weren't fed propaganda by the media or the schools, and parents were tasked with the decision about when to broach the subject of "The Birds and the Bees".

One thing I knew, even at that early age, was that that baby was a PERSON, even before he or she was born.

As Mommy got fatter and fatter, she put my little hand on her belly and I felt the baby KICKING! Yep...there was a REAL PERSON in there!

When finally, Mom went to the hospital and came back with Eddy, a bond was formed between us that is there to this day.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Amen to your prayer, I was told she ate a watermelon seed. So I was very careful not to, being a boy I certainly didn’t want that to happen. It is beautiful to see the bonding of a young child with a newborn!
