Today's CHORUS completes the Passage from 1 Corinthians 15. I don't know if Mr. Jennens compiled it to be one item in the Libretto, or to be broken up into seven musical numbers, as Handel did so marvelously.

We are nearing the end of our journey, as there are only two more numbers in the Oratorio. It has been a little tricky coding this particular series, embedding links and so forth, but I sure am going to miss it.

I'm hoping to catch a local Performance of "Messiah" before Christmas, and have to do some searching. I think I missed some already, but I'll keep looking!

Prayer Of Thanks For Christ’s Victory

Heavenly Father, we lift up our voice of praise to You, along with saints down through the ages Who have rejoiced that Jesus Christ won the victory over Satan, sin and death. How we thank You for His crucifixion on the cross, where He paid the price for our sin, and how we bless You for His glorious resurrection, where He broke the power of sin and death, in the lives of all Who trust in Him. We praise and thank You for His glorious victory, which has been echoing down through the ages, and resounding throughout the universe for 2000 years, and we glorify Your holy name that today we know that there is a Man, seated on the right hand of God, in glorious majesty, Lord Jesus Christ the righteous.

We rejoice that His glorious victory has not diminished with the passing of time, but has become a reality in the lives of generations of men and women, who have trusted in the name of Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. And we thank You Father, that His resurrection power is equally as potent in our lives today as it was when He burst forth from the grave, and routed the armies of wickedness forever.
