Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Job 28:23-28

23  God understands the way to it
    and he alone knows where it dwells,

24  for he views the ends of the earth
    and sees everything under the heavens.

25  When he established the force of the wind
    and measured out the waters,

26  when he made a decree for the rain
    and a path for the thunderstorm,

27  then he looked at wisdom and appraised it;
    he confirmed it and tested it.

Oh LORD, Our God
How Excellent is Your Holy Name!
What a Joy it is,
To Lift Up Your Holy Name in Worship,
For You Alone are Worthy of Praise.
For You are Holy, Righteous and Just,
And Glorious in Majesty!

An interesting thing happened this morning during my Personal Bible Reading. I came to the end of half my Bookmarks. Here's how it went:

1. Torah: Finished Genesis. Tomorrow I start Exodus.
2. History: Still in 1 Samuel
3. Poetry: Still in Job
4. Prophets: Finished Malachi. Tomorrow I go ALL the way back to Isaiah.
5. The Gospels: Still in Matthew
6. Acts: Still on Board a ship.
7. Epistles: Finished Paul's Letters. Tomorrow I start Hebrews (some say Paul wrote that too, but I don't think so, Just My Opinion!)
8. Revelation: Finished the Book of Revelation. AMEN! 😇

Right now, I'm using my NIV Study Bible (Special Yard Sale Edition) that I bought in Hull, MA for $8.00. Maybe in the New Year, I will change Translations again and use the beautiful Leather "God's Word" Edition that was given to me by a Biker in the parking Lot of The Middleboro Antiques Co-op. (I'm not making this up). In the many years I've been reading, using my "8 Bookmark Method", I've used the NIV, The New American Standard, and, of course, the 1611 King James Version. I love 'em all.

I must admit, though, that the Book of Job is much easier to read in modern translations than in the KJV. Getting "lectured" by friends when you're down and out is NEVER fun, but it's even harder if they are lecturing you in 1611 English! I always rejoice a little when I finish Job, because then I start reading....PSALMS!!!.

In Today's passage, we read about the Rhythms of Nature, the Rains and the Seas, the Calms and the Storms, and the Balance of the Earth. This is all the Work of God. Even earth's position in the Universe is Optimum for Life to Flourish.
