Excellent essay.
Thanks for posting.
Prayers up for Holy Mother Church.
Agreed.
Totally agreement here. V2 fixed things that weren’t broken, but now are broken.
This kind of stereotyping is not helpful, because it is not true. The nature of the congregation varies greatly among parishes, even where the novus ordo is offered exclusively. Parishes with more obviously Catholic 'look and feel' and more clearly orthodox preaching tend to have a more healthy balance of ages, compared to parishes that look and feel like it's always 1979. I have observed this phenomenon in multiple dioceses, in multiple States, even in English speaking foreign countries. However, I have never seen a "Latin Mass" Parish that does NOT have a healthy balance of ages in the congregation.
Thank you for posting this.
The Catholic church across the street is full of old people, along with some adult sons and daughters who drive the old folks there. They have an “altar girl” who serves Mass, she is about 80. That’s because children don’t attend Mass.
To correct the monumental errors enacted by the Vatican homo Curia just reverse VatII and reinstate the Traditional Church Law as established by Christ and his Apostles.
Thank you for illustrating my point.
Orthodoxy begets attendance.
Attendance begets vocations.
Very interesting.
The betting window is open. The odds that this is another fired/disgruntled priest? Sounds European? N. Italy or further North? Dolomites? Alps? Bavaria? Any takers? Remember, if you are going to bet, ebby posts from fired priests, the excommunicated, heretics and others from his insane clown posse. The smart money is probably on a failed priesthood. Step up to the window!
“Bishop Eleganti: Vatican II reforms were a ‘reckless,’ ‘failed’ experiment”. I can remember my Mom asking my Dad: “Why did they change it?”
An intelligent person, instead of posting a sarcastic “bet”, would have simply done a very little bit of research on Bishop Eleganti ... and found that he is retired and in good standing with the Church.
Apropos of nothing in particular, one of the best concerts I ever attended was Blue Oyster Cult at Bessie’s Boathouse.
As a child, I witnessed the iconoclasm in the venerable Church of the Holy Cross in my hometown. The Gothic carved altars were torn down before my child eyes. What remained was a people’s altar, an empty choir room, the cross in the choir arch, Mary and St. John on the left and right on white bare walls. New stained glass windows flooded with the rising sun in the east. Nothing more: it was an unprecedented clear-cutting. We children found everything normal and appropriate, and diligently saved for the new stone floor in order to make our contribution to the reform or renovation of the church.
It looks like a close finish; a photo finish? Eleganti was born about the same time, in Switzerland, as your Pope Leo but didn’t become a priest until 1990. He “retired” in 2019, well before the retirement age of 75. Pope Leo just turned 70. HMMMMMMMM. Was he “offered” early retirement, which he accepted, as opposed to the Fired Strickland who is disobedient? Was there bad behavior in word or deed? HMMMMMMMM. Several sources indicate that the resignation was prompted by disagreements with other Swiss bishops. AHHHHHH, just like the Fired Strickland, he doesn’t play well with others. A Loser! Guilt by circumstances and ebby publishing/affiliation.
Do your research boys and girls. Especially if ebby is posting his usual nonsense from the Cartoon Network.
He voluntarily retired because he was fed up with Bergoglio’s Frankenchurch and his evil Sin-Nod.
