Las Vegas residents were left outraged as congregants at an Ethiopian orthodox church continue to illegally park their vehicles on lawns and driveways.
Neighbors of the Hamere Noah Kidane Mihret and Saint Michael Ethiopian Church told KLAS they have repeatedly reached out to Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft and used the Fixit app as they were instructed, but nothing has changed in years.
'We document that and we provide that proof and we have found that there's no follow up,' said Daria Wu, who gathered her fellow neighbors to discuss the issues they have faced during the services at the church.
These include a spike in speeding cars, vehicles running the stop signs and illegally parked cars.
'It's not great to sometimes have your driveway blocked by someone else's car,' Wu noted, as a recent morning ceremony brought more than 600 vehicles, most of which were parked illegally in front of county 'no parking' signs.
The swath of illegally-parked vehicles extended more than a mile, completely blocking some off some roads.
Church members have claimed the hundreds of illegally parked vehicles only come once a year, though residents say it is much more frequently that they are dealing with the issue.
A congregant also reportedly admitted that the parking jobs were illegal according to the signs, but was not an issue because the county has not enforced 'no parking' rules.

Just go spray paint their cars and rip them off. They won’t be coming back.

That takes time even when there is only one car involved. When someone parked in my driveway I simply hooked up a tow strap and dragged the vehicle out into the street. Problem solved in five minutes.
You only have to tow one car to get the message.
One person had a neighbor who routinely parked in his driveway and dismissed attempts to resolve the issue peacefully so the man bought a bunch of bricks, waited for the car to be parked there again and spent the night building a brick wall around the offending car.
I’m sure there is more than one towing company in Los Vegas. Plus call them ahead of time. This has made the news so it’s well known. With the towing companies on stand by I wonder how many cars they could tow in an hour or more?
I was thinking that to. Get those illegally parked cars towed. And the entitlement of its only once a year sucks! It’s their property one day or 365.

Does not seem like they are assimilating to the white man world of customs, laws, and courtesies.....though they did accept Christ of a sort all those years ago.

We had the same problem from a nearby church in the suburbs.....I started using pieces gravel from the driveway to “adorn” their paint jobs and they eventually got the message that the signs telling them not to park on our lawn were there because we meant it...
I have relatives that lived near a college. No one blocked their driveway twice. For those that were warned in the act of parking, whoo boy.
More cultural enrichment. But we’re in overload on that already.
