🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(8/10/25)[Prayer]

Water, Rivers, and Streams in the Bible
Nehemiah 3:15-16

15 The Fountain Gate was repaired by Shallun son of Kol-Hozeh, ruler of the district of Mizpah. He rebuilt it, roofing it over and putting its doors and bolts and bars in place. He also repaired the wall of the Pool of Siloam,[a] by the King’s Garden, as far as the steps going down from the City of David. 16 Beyond him, Nehemiah son of Azbuk, ruler of a half-district of Beth Zur, made repairs up to a point opposite the tombs[b] of David, as far as the artificial pool and the House of the Heroes.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God,
How Excellent,
How Wonderful,
How Pure and Holy is Your Name Over All The Earth!
Ancient Of Days,
Rock of Ages,
King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
You Alone Are worthy of Worship,
For You Alone Are The One True God!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

If you would like to be on or off the Daily Ping List, please let me know.

Amen !!! <><

Psalm 78 (53-63)

53 He led them in safety, so that they were not afraid;
but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
54 And he brought them to his holy hill,
to the mountain that his right hand had won.
55 He drove out nations before them;
he apportioned them for a possession
and settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.

56 Yet they tested the Most High God,
and rebelled against him.
They did not observe his decrees,
57 but turned away and were faithless like their ancestors;
they twisted like a treacherous bow.
58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places;
they moved him to jealousy with their idols.
59 When God heard, he was full of wrath,
and he utterly rejected Israel.
60 He abandoned his dwelling at Shiloh,
the tent where he dwelt among mortals,
61 and delivered his power to captivity,
his glory to the hand of the foe.
62 He gave his people to the sword,
and vented his wrath on his heritage.
63 Fire devoured their young men,
and their girls had no marriage song.

Even though my Three Weeks in Jerusalem happened 41 years ago, it's still so fresh in my mind that can see the sights, hear the sounds, and even smell the smell of that city. Spices and Flowers were sold from open burlap sacks in outdoor markets, donkeys and camels did what donkeys and camels do, and, every time an archaeologist opened up a dig, the smells of 30 Centuries past would come up out of the hole. It was a strange and unique combination of odors, not entirely negative, but not really "pleasant" either. These olfactory differences are all over the world. Getting off the plane in Honolulu, Mexico, Tel Aviv, or Boston are all different experiences, even before you get into the city. Maybe it's just ME. They say that the last sense one loses is the Sense of Smell.

When I was there, the digs at The City of David were just getting started. We concentrated our tour on the South Steps of the Temple Mount, just outside the present day wall. The City of Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah had a different configuration than what is encompassed by the walls today, so the City of David excavations are outside the Old City Walls, in an area that used to be a Parking Lot. They have dug down so deeply that they've found the tunnels leading into what had been Herod's Temple of the Time of Jesus.

When Nehemiah returned from Exile to rebuild Jerusalem, he was confronted by more than just a Parking Lot. The Temple and the City Wall were so destroyed that Nehemiah couldn't even get his horse around the piles of rubble. His efforts were met with Local Opposition, Political Intrigue, Legal Wrangling, and Violence. But Nehemiah was determined, and he got his wall built in twelve days.

Different Gates were for Different uses. One brought water into the city. One was used to haul out waste (the aptly named "Dung Gate"). The Fountain Gate was near the Gihon Spring, a source of precious water. King Hezekiah actually built a tunnel for delivering water to the city, and that tunnel still exists...I walked through it!

Unlike most cities, Jerusalem doesn't have a seaport, or even a river running through it. Yet, it's the most controversial city on the planet.

Some might argue that Washington DC is the most controversial city, but, even though both cities have a "Watergate", Jerusalem has been razed and rebuilt countless times in History.

It can be argued that Nehemiah encountered similar problems rebuilding his beloved Capital City as we face today with ours.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

”Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3 NIV)

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

I’ve been to Jerusalem, which is alternately awe inspiring religiously, fun socially, amazing historically, and spooky islamically.

I totally get it!

I carefully avoided shops that had a crudely painted dome-of-the-rock over the doorway.

I didn’t have much spending money, and certainly didn’t want to give it to people who hate me and want me dead.
