He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8
Holy God,
Thank You for showing us what is good. Your Word is truth and it is what You require of us. May we be committed to reading, knowing, and living in Your Word so that we may truly honor You in this beautiful nation You have given us. When we consider the faithfulness You have shown America from the very beginning, we bow before You in humble gratitude. We offer praise and thanksgiving to You for the 249 years of blessing You have showered upon America. As we come to the end of our Independence Day celebrations, we pause to acknowledge You once again as the very greatest blessing that America has---that You are our God and we thank You. You are our God and we bless You. Even for those who do not acknowledge Jesus as the pillar of our nation, they still receive tremendous blessings because we confess America as a nation whose God is the Lord!
Father, You have never abandoned us even in our darkest hours. Please forgive us for the times when we have moved away from You. You are the answer to any divisiveness in our nation. We struggle because we have sometimes allowed the wisdom of this world to replace the true wisdom that can only come from You. How foolish we are to think that Your ways are outdated and Your truths no longer apply to our daily lives. We know that neither You nor Your truths ever change. We pray that You would continue to raise up voices in our nation that would rally the body of Christ and cause us to rise as standard bearers to such a degree that we would profoundly affect the moral climate of our nation. Help us, Father, to stand firm on Your wisdom and truth all the days of our lives. Help us to walk humbly with You, our God.
Father, may Your wisdom continue to guide and direct our President and Vice President. They have chosen to stand with Israel and to show the world that we will continue to defend Your people. Lord God, thank You for being our Avenger. Help our leaders to continue to seek Your wise counsel and to pray about every decision they make. We can never thank You enough for leaders who pray openly in the White House. May the halls of Congress be full of people who are willing to seek You and Your guidance. Please protect our President, Lord, and defend America from any retaliatory measures from the Middle East and even within our own borders. Guard our military men and women who are stationed throughout the world. We pray that You would give President Trump the spirit of discernment, understanding, and knowledge so that our nation may know stability internally and abroad.
Father, may Your heart of compassion assist all those involved in the horrible flooding disaster at Kerrville, Texas. Send people to be Your hands and feet so that precious children who are lost can be swiftly located. Comfort the family members who await news of the fate of their loved ones. Father, please give supernatural wisdom to all those who are involved in the search and rescue efforts. We look to You, Lord, in such a tragedy and pray that You will be a Light unto them in these days of darkness and sorrow
Father, help us always to care what You think about every issue and event. May it be our heartfelt desire to walk humbly with You this day and every day, so that glory and honor may be brought to You. And may we daily rejoice in You, Lord, and be joyful in the God of our salvation. In Jesus’ Holy and Awesome Name. Amen.

Psalm 125
A Song of Ascents.
1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be moved, but abides for ever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people,
from this time on and for evermore.
3 For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest
on the land allotted to the righteous,
so that the righteous may not stretch out
their hands to do wrong.
4 Do good, O Lord, to those who are good,
and to those who are upright in their hearts.
5 But those who turn aside to their own crooked ways
the Lord will lead away with evildoers.
Peace be upon Israel!
Amen.
