Indianapolis church calls for LGBTQ+ community to face death penalty

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis church is calling for members of the LGBTQ+ community to be put to death or to kill themselves.

Local faith leaders are condemning the message.

The call was made during a recent sermon titled “Pray the Gay Away” inside Sure Foundation Baptist Church on the northwest side of the city.

“There’s nothing good to be proud about being a f*****. You ought to blow yourself in the head, in the back of the head. You’re so disgusting,” Stephen Falco said from the pulpit. He was speaking during the church’s “Men’s Preaching Night.” The event was streamed live on their Facebook page.

“A bunch of f****** that want to come around, walk on our streets, and demand our children, and we should walk in the eye and say, ‘No, you’re not going to have our children,’” he said.

Falco continued to call for the death of the queer community.

Following the sermon, I-Team 8 reached out to the church about Falco’s message.

“He’s only calling for the death penalty and suicide for the actual sodomites (homosexuals),” the church said in an emailed statement. “The Bible teaches that those people are worthy of death. They are supposed to be executed by the government. We are not to take the law into our own hands.”

I-Team 8 then reached out to members of the LGBTQ+ community to ask how this rhetoric impacts them.

Ali Klausing is a mom to four kids and an advocate in the queer community. She says words like this deeply impact children who are listening.

“Children are targeted silently and violently,” Klausing said. “These children don’t know social constructs until we teach them that, and so when we’re teaching them through hate and disguising it through Scripture, what we’re doing is abusing them invisibly.”

Leviticus 20:13
New International Version
13 “‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

Don’t yell at me! I didn’t write it.

To the “Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis”:

Ephesians 5:5

There is no wiggle room. You’d best start preaching repentance and faith, instead of only love. Lest you be found to be a liar, twisting Scripture.

There are no participation prizes awarded in the Pentateuch.

Deuteronomy: He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
IOW, No troons.
Biblical obiter dictum?

i wouldn’t yell at you brother or sister, but context in interpreting Holy Scripture is vital.

the Law (Leviticus) was written for God’s people. a people who were to commit themselves completely to serving God. a spotless people who were to maintain their status with God through innocent blood sacrifice. it applies to us Christians as well, as we, under the New Covenant, based on Jesus’ Gift of Himself on the Cross, will also have to be justified in the eyes of God. however we have the Advocate, who atoned/payed for our sins, and thus has the authority to forgive all sin; as long as we confess to Him and continue believe on Jesus’ Holy Name, the Son of God the Father.

so this Scripture was a commandment under the Old Covenant to the Jews, and represents God’s judgement on any one in rebellion against Himself under that Covenant with His people. btw, clearly, the Old Covenant is much harder to keep than the New, so us Christians thank God that we have it and Jesus’ cleansing Blood. the Old Covenant is still in force, however, and God will vouchsafe and fully justify His own People when He returns again, gathers his exiled people the Jews, establishes his Temple in a restored Israel and after the troubles set’s David back on the thrown for His Millennial Kingdom.

as for us Christians, we hope to be long gone in the rapture before most of that. of course, there is vast and continuing theological argument among Christians as to all of this. some people will jump on me for writing this comment. i’m just giving you my personal, careful reading of the Scriptures, especially Ezekiel/Revelation. i do believe, however, that I have the Spirit of God, and that my reading is correct, even though we all see through a ‘glass darkly’ at this point.

as for Leviticus, fear not, brother or sister; rest assured that God will enforce that scripture Himself if and when He deems it necessary. the devil and his children (including practicing homosexuals) will end up in the Lake of fire and will trouble us no more in Heaven. no need for any Gentile to execute Jewish Law. now for an orthodox Jew who purports to be faithful the the Law of God, look out. God may indeed judge a Jew on the spot for that sin.

Repent for the remission of your sins, or suffer eternal damnation and Hellfire.

I don’t understand people. These things are so painfully clear, it’s as if people are under a spell and lack comprehension.

Even with the best tools and teachers available. Sad.

Amen to ‘repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.’ well, God’s speed to you brother or sister. maybe someone else here is interested in hearing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. if not, my duty to God is discharged. my blood isn’t on my head.

He already has, in some cases, like the Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the 24,000 who rose up to play.

Well, this is all mostly Old Testament writings. Most of that was diluted or overwritten by the teachings of the New Testament.

However!

If they were to simply refer to them as child-molesters (which they are) there would be a lot less controversy in the church community and beyond. (except for democRATs)

I believe Jesus had a thing or two to say about that. Something about a mill stone.

there is no doubt God hates sin and hates homosexuality because it obviously violates his Will and Creation of Man and Woman as one flesh for procreation, as expressed explicitly, and judged as you said in His Word in so many places and times in history.

but, Leviticus, was written specifically for the Jews not Gentiles. that was the main point i was making. the context of Leviticus as a Law, part of the First Covenant, applies to the Jewish people, not Gentiles. but no one in say the flood could violate Leviticus. it wasn’t given by God until it was given to Moses.

I think the fathers of the Nephilim, were well aware of their sin, long before Moses came along. It wasn’t homosexuality specifically, but it WAS sexual sin, and the Nephilim paid the ultimate price, in the Flood, and the sons of God, who were involved, were locked up in Tartarus.
