Jimmy Swaggart’s family provided a heartfelt and emotional update on the televangelist during a Wednesday night service.
As the Christian Post reported, Swaggart’s son, Donnie, shared during the service that the family is currently “in the process of making some very difficult and hard decisions.”
Donnie Swaggart also mentioned that more family members are coming into town right now.
“We have called all of the family to come into town, the grandkids that haven’t been here, and Joanna and Cliff for a family meeting on Friday,” Donnie said, calling this heartbreaking medical situation “a tough time.”
As the Post noted, Donnie said that right now “we are facing the end,” and are in need of “a miracle from the Lord.”
“The family, we’re strong, and as I said, we will be having a meeting with the entire family,” he continued. “The next couple of days will be hard days with the things we have to discuss.”
As the Shreveport Times noted, ministry spokesperson Megan Kelly told reporters that Swaggart “is in the same condition” and that there had been “no change.”
“He is currently in ICU surrounded by his family. There’s still been no change. We are still in a holding pattern.”
Continue to lift up Jimmy Swaggart and his family in prayer during this time.

anyone driving around, still listening to the radio, especially in the South, has heard the Gospel and felt the godly influence that this man and his music have with the evangelical Christians in those parts. for sure, he has had his short comings, but so do we all. ‘For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.’ may he have that final victory, he often sang about, through the blood of Jesus Christ.

I’ll never forget the first time I heard “ there is a river” playing on the sidewalks of NYC. 1990 , before the first attack on the WTC. Was killing an hour between runs, out walking. As I came upon a construction site, the devil urged me to walk away-“don’t go that way, something might fall on you!”. I foolishly complied, and crossed the street to avoid the area. As I proceeded, God countered with”BE NOT AFRAID, NOR DISMAYED, I AM WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO!”. Realizing a spiritual war was ensuing, I went back through that construction area to see what’s up. It was there I found Dr. ( yes!) James Pennyfeather preaching the end of the world, and to quickly come to Christ. He had a card table with tracts, and a tiny tape player, Jimmy Swaggart singing “ there is a river”. Nobody in aid him any attention. I felt sorry for him, and got him coffee and a donut. As we ate, I asked him why he was doing this, as it appeared worthless and a waste of time. He vehemently questioned my faith. Said he was just a nobody, went to church, ran a small store. But he recently started losing sleep with weird dreams. NYC was ablaze, the skyscrapers on fire, and people JUMPING TO THEIR DEATH RATHER THAN BEING BURNED ALIVE. I heard he passed years ago in a rest home. Whether he saw 9-11 I do not know. I hope not.
At age 90 no health issue is a surprise.
