Baby Moses Arrives, Chipmunks Thrive, and King David is Alive

(Fresno, California: the hometown of Free Republic. Fresno: "ash tree")

Exodus 2

1 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.
2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.
4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.

Fill the ark with water. Sink it into silence (into deNile).

And when she opened it, she saw the 'peanut', and the lad wept.
She then took pity on him, and said, "This is one of the Yidden!"

12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

Tamias is a genus of chipmunks in the tribe Marmotini of the squirrel family. The genus includes a single living species, the eastern chipmunk (Tamias striatus).[1] The genus name Tamias (Greek: ταμίας) means "treasurer", "steward", or "housekeeper",[2] which is a reference to the animals' role in plant dispersal through their habit of collecting and storing food for winter use.[3] Tamias is a genus of chipmunks in the tribe Marmotini of the squirrel family.

A double underscore prefix causes the Python interpreter to rewrite the attribute name in order to avoid naming conflicts in subclasses.

This is also called name mangling - the interpreter changes the name of the variable in a way that makes it harder to create collisions when the class is extended later.

I know this sounds rather abstract.

I am at the same time fascinated and disturbed by this thread. I am confused from beginning to end. I try not to think of myself unlearned or a barbarian (and yes I do carry Grey Poupon in my Bentley just in case anybody pulls up and asks for some). I know if I strain and think upon this too long I will pop a blood vessel in my head causing a hemorrhagic stroke and I do not wish this. It does seem familiar in my argument with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum about what each of us is thinking (reading our thoughts) which I thought imposerous.

When my oldest son was a tike we'd read bedtime Bible stories. Sometimes I'd intentionally read it in how most parents would read it, to which my son would ask, "Daddy, would you read it right?" Which meant he expected either sound effects or silly commentary. LOL

With the story about baby Moses, I was expected to point out, "See? It says right there in the text that the Egyptian princess was in the Nile river to bathe. Now, that Nile River has a lot of nutrients in it and because of all those nutrients it stinks a lot worse that the river at Grandmama and Pop's house. So stop and think about this: how much worse did that Egyptian princess stink if she thought bathing in that Nile River was improvement?"

Of course I'd explain to him that "bathing" didn't just mean for cleaning, it could be about relaxing our taking a swim, especially before air conditioning. But it was part of our regular Bible humor to help him remember some of the stories.

Enjoyed the Friday night trip!

And now whoo-hoo, it's the dawn of a New Day!

Never Boring, Always Exciting:

"Turn me loose, set me free.." ~ Merle Haggard, Big City

(because there's always a song!)

"It was time to start the entertainment, and the last of the audience arrived just in time before the play began."
>>>

"All hail King Arthur!"

What timing to have pulled that off the shelf (explained below), on account of quoting King Arthur just this morning about checking for dead leaven. And anyone who's been following along on this incredible journey would know that "bread" [ברד] IS Hail [ברד] IS "Shalom!"

It only takes a small piece to break the ice, but it's like the gray squirrels. Ever-intimidated, even though one was literally banging on the door a short time ago.

He really wanted to take the peanut from my hand, but was hanging back. In the meantime, he (or she) watched dejectedly as a parade of chipmunks and red squirrels fearlessly approached me for the free treats, one after another after another.

They knew to make a beeline as soon as I opened the door!

***

OCD = Outrageous Career Decision (accept no substitutes)

Now, because I believe in and know Who wrote the entire script, I know it's all one highly integrated masterpiece, lovingly designed in exquisite detail by the Master of the Universe.

Respect.

No crumb is insignificant. Every microscopic piece has its place. That's some fine, hand-crafted work with all the personal touches that aren't available in stores -- THE magnum opus for ALL ages, not like the assembly-line, mass-produced, cookie-cutter, rubber-stamped, self-destructing schlock made in China of inferior, regurgitated materials, and then heartily approved and sent out by the dutiful company men who are expert at looking the other way. You know it when you see it -- quality control at its finest!

That's why I don't listen to the voices that 'know' what can be tossed aside, for their having already decided what is and isn't valuable -- a failed premise just on general principle.

Let's Roll!

From the side of light (that would be the Sunnyside, the side of hope) --

I know that the best intel is sitting over in the toy department, patiently sitting on the shelf, hoping to become that big birthday or Christmas surprise for a super-excited little boy or girl who can't wait to start playing right away:

Pick me! Pick me!

(For those not aware, this adorable fire dog with the big blue puppy-dog eyes is the plucky comic relief of the Patrol, somewhat clumsy but humble, unassuming, and always prepared to run-on with a bad pun. Besides, he's the medic Pup, and laughter is the best medicine, just sayin'.)

I'm a big fan. As a matter-of-fact, he was the one worthy to be crowned King for a Day. For those who missed the announcement but still wish to catch up and read along, it's right here in 2:34 minutes*.

Even though he was the last-minute stand-in to replace his good friend Chase [who was the Law but became ill and unable to serve], Marshal -- knowing the lines already -- proved to be the rightful king because he was the one able to pull the bone from the stone in order to rescue the princess who had been trapped in the high tower, and the rest is history.

*That's why it's so important to be wary of condensed versions, because so much was not included in "Step 2 - Reading with Help". Good thing I know the larger narrative -- it's stashed nearby on my own bookshelf -- for to immediately recognize the yuge difference. I can't locate the version online, but that's okay because I can type it up myself for a time such as this. Handy!

Marshall knew all the lines because he had been helping Chase practice for the play, but that information isn't included in the account below. It was a detail I learned from another version of events, for me to put together.

This documentation is worth it because I know it's important--

King for a Day!

"Fear not, fair princess!" Marshall cried. "The Pups of the Round Table will save thee!"

The pups were practicing their play about knights. Chase was King Arthur, and the other pups were his brave knights.

"Our play will be knight-tastic!" Marshall declared.

===

In Adventure Bay's town square, Cap'n Turbot was building the set for the play. The set looked like a castle!

"Castle construction is close to completion!" Cap'n Turbot announced.

"Just one last nail . . ."

But when he swung his hammer, he missed! Instead of hitting the nail, he hit the castle wall, and . . .

. . . the set collapsed!

A big piece of the castle fell right on top of Cap'n Turbot.

"I'm stuck!" he cried. He reached for his phone and called the PAW Patrol for help.

"Don't worry, Cap'n Turbot," Ryder said.

"No job is too big, no pup is too small!"

===

The Paw Patrol raced to the town square.

"How are you, Cap'n Turbot?" Marshall asked.

"Super! But stuck," he said. "And my arm smarts a smidge."

"We'll have you out in no time!" Ryder promised. "Rubble, use your claw hook to lift the wall."

"On the double!" Rubble said.

Rubble backed his truck up to the wall and lifted it away from Cap'n Turbot. But there was still another piece of scenery trapping him.

Chase used the winch on his vehicle to pull the doorway off Cap'n Turbot. He was free!

"Thanks, PAW Patrol!" Cap'n Turbot said as he stood and brushed himself off.

"Okay, Cap'n Turbot!" Marshall said. "I need to do a medical exam. X-ray machine!"

The machine popped out of Marshall's pack. He used it to scan Cap'n Turbot's bones.

"Hmm," Marshall said. "Looks like it's only a sprain. I'll wrap it up."

A bandage popped out of Marshall's pack. He wrapped the bandage around Cap'n Turbot 's wrist.

Cap'n Turbot needed to rest his arm, so it was up to the PAW Patrol to finish building the castle for their play.

===

"Okay, my Pups of the Round Table!" Chase commanded through his megaphone. "Moveth!"

Skye used her helicopter and a towing cable to fly a wall to the set. She placed it in the middle of the stage.

Rocky popped a tool arm out of his pack. ZZRRRZZZ! He used the power screwdriver to spin screws through a hinge and into the wooden door. He tested the door to make sure it could easily open and close.

"This castle door is ready!" he announced.

Marshall held a paintbrush in his mouth and dipped it into a can of purple paint. He carefully spread the paint on the wall.

Ryder worked on the other side of the doorway. Together, they finished painting the castle in a flash!

Soon the castle was ready! The pups felt so proud, they all howled and barked.

Except Chase. He didn't bark-- he coughed!

Marshall took his temperature. "Uh-oh. You've got a fever! You need lots of rest and liquids."

But who would play King Arthur in the play?

Marshall! He knew all the lines! And the crown fit him.

===

It was time to start the entertainment, and the last of the audience arrived just in time before the play began. Cali the kitten was a princess stuck high in a tower. The pup who pulled the bone from the stone would become king and save the princess.

"Behold! The bone!" Rubble said.

"Hmm," Rocky said, licking his lips. "It looks-eth delicious!"

Marshall entered. "Fear not, fair princess!"

He jumped over the bone and took it in his teeth. Then he struggled to pull it out of the stone.

WHOOOP! When the bone came free, it flew out of Marshall's mouth and hit the tower! The tower toppled over, and Cali fell!

The audience gasped!

Thankfully, Marshall caught Cali -- and he remembered to say his line. "You are free, fair princess!"

The audience cheered. Marshall was doing an excellent job!

Lady Skye popped the wings out of her pack and flew over to Marshall. "Heads up!" she said as she dropped a golden crown right onto his head.

It was a perfect fit!

"All hail King Arthur!" the pups cried, kneeling in front of Marshall.

The curtain closed. When it was opened again, the pups took a bow.

The audience cheered again!

"Great job, all of you!" Ryder said. "You're such good pups!"

The king had saved the day.

And Marshall had saved the play!

Mainly these are observations of the many similarities — comparisons of visuals, overlapping/integrated concepts, word meanings, some puns thrown in, like that.

A little something for everybody, to chew on or push away as it were. There are no ulterior motives/subversive plots/ devious schemes here. It’s an assortment of what *is*.

I thought those quotes from the python page were funny. The author was explaining some kind of coding I have no idea about, but the words *as-is* made complete sense on an alternate frequency. The one I’m on, lol.

What I’m *not* doing is chucking stuff together to produce exciting “interpretations” that get attention and make people popular. My lack of “this means this” and “that means that” might tend to annoy people “just a tad”, but oh well.

I think people should be free to think for themselves, so basically the idea is that here’s some raw material to get started on having some fun.

Because, well you already know it — it’s a weird little world out there.

I’ve learned sooo much by freely moving around. Quirky contexts really help to retain memory, and then it adds up over time. I am no longer shocked by how the everything links together.

I also think people should be free to despise my posts, or assume I’ve got a screw loose, or am “on something” or whatever.

This all is like going on a travel adventure with map and a couple of guidebooks, with the intent to venture off the beaten path,

versus the prepackaged tour model with a strict itinerary and timeline baked into it by whatever company designed the tour, and whoa to those who wander off.

Remember Irma? She ended up on the Bonsai tour bus. Terrible, but then she couldn’t wait to visit Japan on account of all the new friends she made! Winning!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_It%27s_Tuesday,_This_Must_Be_Belgium

I suppose my crime is a crime of passion. Raw energy and intellectual curiosity runneth amok.

Result: I always find the best stuff, top [book]shelf.

🤠 Gotta live a little!

A bumper crop for you too, eh?

They've been hitting me up from all directions, and this isn't a tiny plot of land.

(Okay, so I enable, but they are such a delightful cast of characters. I can't resist their charms.)

I had to laugh when I finally recognized the "pattern of their cloth", because the vague familiarity had been hovering around for years.

But then who'd ever match their snazzy racing stripe outfits to Baby Moses, much less to Moses' leading an entire nation across the Red Sea, out from the mind paralysis of Egypt.

Looney Tunes time!

When I happened to see them and also a scene/image from the movie separately on the same day, the real "Aha!" moment had arrived. That's why they'd look vaguely familiar for so long.

So now I get a chuckle out of seeing the constant parade of Levite cloths, knowing that the chip-stars are actually running around in royal robes.

Levites! They're everywhere! Who knew?

Who's running this show?!

It "seams" pretty obvious WHO in charge of *the* Garment Department. 😁

Have a great day!
