Does CARM recommend the Seventh-day Adventist Church?
by Matt Slick | Dec 5, 2008
| Seventh Day Adventism, World Religions
CARM does not recommend attending the Seventh-day Adventist church. There are too many problems within Seventh-day Adventism to recommend it as a safe and healthy church. Though there are Seventh-day Adventist groups that are within orthodoxy, there are too many of them that are not. In fact, many people consider Seventh-day Adventismthe Seventh-day Adventism to be a non-Christian cult. It either is or is not dependent upon which particular Church in that SDA movement is teaching things that violate the essentials of the Christian faith.
One of the problems with Seventh-day Adventism is Saturday worship. They are certainly free to worship on Saturday. That is not unbiblical. However, the problem is when any Seventh-day Adventist group asserts that the proper day of worship is Saturday, not Sunday.

I heard they were non-Trinitarian. Is that true?
A Jehovah's Witness once told me he had a relative who was a 7th Day Adventist, and that the religions were very similar.

does CARM recommend the Catholic Church?
To: caver
The website explains that.
Matt Slick has been running it for a while.

"does CARM recommend the Catholic Church?" CARM is notoriously anti-Catholic, almost as much as certain segments of Seventh Day Adventism.

CARM = Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry
“Equipping Christians, defending the faith, and reaching the lost for Jesus”
https://carm.org/about/carm-statement-of-faith/
20: Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy:
CARM considers the official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church regarding Mary and Salvation to be non-Christian and lead to damnation. Yet, CARM recognizes that there are Christians within the Roman Catholic Church and are such, despite official Catholic Teaching. See CARM’s section on Roman Catholicism. Likewise, Eastern Orthodoxy also has false teachings regarding salvation and is likewise a false church. Yet, like Catholicism, there are undoubtedly saved individuals with that organization.
24. Rapture:
The event where, upon Jesus’ return, those who have died in Christ and those Christians who are then alive will be physically caught up to the clouds and meet the Lord Jesus in the air. We will then forever be with the Lord (1 Thess. 4:16-5:2). Because of the diverse opinions among Christians regarding the rapture, CARM considers pre-tribulation rapture, mid-tribulation rapture, and post-tribulation rapture to be within the scope of Christian orthodoxy.

An interesting exercise to do relating to this thread is to go to youtube, and do a search for this: 'What is wrong with Matt Slick?'
That search will return billions and billions (well, lots) of video suggestions, such as the following.
Matt Slick is a Lying Hypocrite
Matt Slick is SO WRONG
Matt Slick crumbles when asked the right questions
etc., etc., etc...
(Try that youtube search yourself, and see for yourself!) 😎
