🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem 🇮🇱(2/28/25)[Prayer]

Names and Titles of God the Holy Spirit
(Witness) Acts 15:7-11
7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
King James Version

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Blessed and Glorious Is Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name!
We Come Into Your Presence With Singing
and Into Your Courts With Praise.
For Your Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are the True God.
How We Want To Love You and Serve You with Our Whole Heart,
Our Whole Soul,
Our Whole Mind,
And Our Whole Strength!
Let Your Holy Word Be Written Deep Upon Our Hearts,
Bound upon Our Right Hands,
And as a Frontlet Between Our Eyes!
Let Your Promises in Your Word never Depart from Us,
Oh Father, for even when we murmur and are unfaithful,
YOU ARE FOREVER FAITHFUL.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
”The Greatest Of these Is Love.”

I have several means of communication with the "outside World". Email, Texting, Cell Phone, Land Line, the Internet, and Good Old-Fashioned Snail Mail keep me connected. Right after Thanksgiving, I send out about 50 Christmas Cards. Some may say that's silly and old-fashioned, but it keeps me in touch with people I hardly ever get to see. In some cases, I have gotten word that, since the last Christmas card, my friend had passed away, and, somehow, nobody told me. This has actually happened twice since I moved from Florida. Texting and Email are not enough, as hardly anybody would be monitoring the computer of somebody who has passed away.
Having all these lines of communication are a blessing, but also leave people vulnerable to scams. I get approximately 30 "JUNK" emails a day, about ten scam calls on my Land Line, and two or three on my cell. I don't know where these people get my number, but they seem to know that I'm a Senior Citizen because most of the fraudsters are trying to extract my Medicare info. Since a lot of these scammers are calling from outside the USA, from huge Call Centers in Asia, our own government can't do a thing about them.
Senior Citizen Advocates tell us NOT to answer these calls if we don't recognize the number. That's all well and good, but I've missed some important calls because of that tactic. I always need and want new students, and when a number looks local (and the automatic dialers are able to spoof actual numbers in your area), I have to answer the phone. As soon as I realize that it's a scammer, I hang up.
A big giveaway is a South Asian Accent, because a lot of these Call Centers are located in India and S.E. Asia. However, I almost drove away one of my most faithful customers (FOUR lessons a week) because of a heavy Indian accent on the initial call. I'm so glad I stopped myself from my usual defense against scammers (screaming at them and slamming down the phone). Thank you, Lord for putting a watch on my lips and a guard on my tongue!
Peter was a devout Jew who separated himself from Gentiles in the way that he felt was appropriate. He tried to keep the Dietary Laws, and distinguish between clean and unclean animals. The Torah is quite specific about that, and, by coincidence, happened to pop up in my own personal readings today (Leviticus 11). No pork, no rabbit, no birds of prey, and no scavengers. While this promoted healthy eating, it also made a "distinction" between clean and unclean foods. Even though Peter had been Redeemed and Filled with The Holy Spirit, he still kept these Laws. However, he extended the distinction of "unclean" to include Gentiles (human beings!) as well.
Since God's plan included all of Mankind, Peter's prejudices had to be dealt with.
The conversion of Cornelius and his Household was a turning point in the Church in the Apostolic Age. Peter reported his experience to the council, and more Gentiles came into the flock. Generations of prejudice had to be addressed.
As we shall see tomorrow, the Jerusalem Council came up with a compromise that welcomed Gentiles into the Church, without them having to undergo a painful initiation. But there were also rules that they were asked to follow as believers.
Everybody on both sides seemed pleased with the result. When making decisions for a diverse group, everybody has to "give a little" here and there.
But there are still scammers out there. Be Vigilant!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Psalm 11
To the leader. Of David.
1 In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to me,
‘Flee like a bird to the mountains;*
2 for look, the wicked bend the bow,
they have fitted their arrow to the string,
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?’
4 The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord’s throne is in heaven.
His eyes behold, his gaze examines humankind.
5 The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked,
and his soul hates the lover of violence.
6 On the wicked he will rain coals of fire and sulphur;
a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the Lord is righteous;
he loves righteous deeds;
the upright shall behold his face.
