Our Reproductive Rights Belong To God, Not Us
The Reason For my faith ^ | February 1, 2025 | Chuck Ness

Posted on 02/01/2025 7:45:49 PM PST by OneVike

What I'm going to write will upset a lot of people, especially Christians who have bought into the lie that we, not God, have rightful control of our reproductive systems. We do this by claiming God cannot bless us if we have too many children. However, when we live as He tells us to, then He will supply us with all we need. Sadly, the faith of most Christians is so weak that they don't believe in God's promises. God tells us to trust in Him, and He will bless us. One of the ways we show how much faith we have in God is to give Him complete control of our reproduction system.

Well I have news for my brothers and sisters of the faith, in the context of populating the earth, five times we read that God commanded us to be fruitful and multiply. A command He has never ever rescinded, nor modified. In a nutshell, if you are a Christian, then you should concede with no argument, and stop limiting your blessings by limiting the number of children you have.  Yet too many Christians would rather listen to the so-called experts in the World that tell us overpopulation is killing the planet, and besides, having too many children leads to poverty.  The World's solution is to limit how many children you have. Yet the reality is the World considers children a curse, while God calls them a blessing.

(Psalms 127:3-5) Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

As I stated, five times we are told by God to be fruitful and multiply.

(#1) (Genesis 1:22) And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters of the seas and let the fowl multiply in the earth. (#2) (Genesis 1:28) And God blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth." (#3) (Genesis 8:17) Bring out with you every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, of fowl, of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth, so that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful and multiply upon the earth. (#4) (Genesis 9:1) And God blessed Noah and his sons. And He said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. (#5) (Genesis 9:7) And you be fruitful and multiply. Bring forth abundantly in the earth, and increase in it.

Each of these are separate from the times God said the same thing about the nation of Israel. Thus the five times prior to God choosing Abraham's descendants, we see God commanding all men of the earth to be fruitful and multiply. Many claim this was a commandment given to only Israel and thus not pertinent to Christians. Yet we can clearly see that the first five existed long before God chose Abraham's seed, and before Moses was given the Law.

Mind you, God did not add caveats to His command. He never ever said, "only be fruitful if you can afford children," nor did He say, "ignore this commandment if you would rather have a more profitable worldly lifestyle." Nope, He simply said, "Be Fruitful and Multiply," PERIOD!

Now I understand that unbelievers will never accept this reasoning, but they too limit their blessings when they ignore God's commandments. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:45 that our Father in heaven blesses both the just and the unjust, and as such they too can reap the benefits of following His commandments. However, the blessings they do receive will not last once they die, for unless they accept Christ as their Lord and Savior, they will be condemned to spend eternity separated from God in hell where the worm does not die and the fire is never quenched. (Mark 9:48)

This message is basically for those who claim to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. My message is that believers who limit the number of children by claiming they would not be able to afford more than two children, simply lack faith that God will do as He said. If you believe in Jesus' promises, then you must also believe in God's promises, after all they are One and the Same. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, if you have true soul saving faith in Jesus, then stop limiting your blessings of children. Why worry, if you know and trust Jesus? Besides, when you look back into ancient times, you will see that not all families had numerous children. Many women were lucky if they had one child, while others seemed to get pregnant every time their husband looked their way.

There are numerous lessons of God being in control of the womb. One lesson is Jacob's two wives, Leah and Rachel. In chapters 29 and 30 we see that Leah was blessed because Jacob did not love her. Then after Leah had four son's, God remembered who was barren, and she had Joseph. Throughout the Scriptures God is almost always credited with opening the womb.

(Genesis 29:31) When the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb, but later Rachel was barren and God opened her womb.

(Genesis 30:22) Gen 30:22 Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.

Another is in Exodus, when Pharaoh ordered the midwives to kill all the male children, they refused, so God blessed them.

(Exodus 1:19-21) The midwives said to Pharaoh, "Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women, for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife comes to them." So God dealt well with the midwives. And the people multiplied and grew very strong. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.

Then we read in 1 Samuel 1:1-2 that Ramathaim-zophim had two wives. God opened the womb of Peninnah, yet not Hannah's womb. Then we read God opened the womb of Hannah also, and thus she Had Samuel.

(1 Samuel 1:19-20) They rose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD; then they went back to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her, and in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Samuel, for she said, "I have asked for him from the LORD."

After she weaned Samuel, she dedicated him to God, and he blessed her with more children,

(1 Samuel 2:20-21) Then Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and say, "May the LORD give you children by this woman for the petition she asked of the LORD." So then they would return to their home. Indeed the LORD visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. And the boy Samuel grew in the presence of the LORD.

One of the most profound and direct statements about God being the one who opens and closes the womb comes from Isaiah,

(Isaiah 66:9) Shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to bring forth?" says the LORD; "shall I, who cause to bring forth, shut the womb?" says your God.

Today I continually hear Christians argue that abortion is needed for cases of rape and incest. Which I ask, since when has it been the child's sin for being alive? After all,  I'm the product of rape, and I thank God everyday of my life that I was born twenty years before Roe vs Wade became law of the land, because being the youngest of 8 children in the late 1950 and 1960s, I can tell you we were so poor a black family down the street brought food to us. Trust me, abortion would have been a welcomed option if it was legal.

Others argue that abortion should be used to protect the life of the Mother or because they say the baby will die before birth anyway. Yet never do we read in the Scriptures that termination was an option accepted by God for difficult pregnancies, or to save the mothers life. Besides, have you ever heard of Tim Tebow and his Mother? They were both supposed to be dead 37 years ago.  Truth is, God handed down the law that it was a death penalty if anyone was involved in the death of a child in the womb.

(Exodus 21:22-23) "When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman's husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life.

In the last fifteen years we have already seen what liberal anti-God politicians like Presidents Obama and Biden can, and have done, to Christians and conservatives. Well imagine how many more true Christian conservatives would be alive in America today had Christians trusted God and followed His command of being fruitful and multiplying, instead of following the rule of thumb set by Satan's minions in the World. This is a serious point to consider.

Think about how many more children of true conservative Christian Americans there would be if only leftists had been aborting babies and limiting their pregnancies for the last 50 years instead of Christians following the same path? We would have a super majority of pro-life Christian conservatives in power in every state in the Union and the Federal Government. Christians should be procreating like rabbits. Then we would not have so many government institutions that defy the Constitution while attacking Christians. If Christians had not limited the number of children they had, then all this liberal anti-Christian communist ideology running amuck today would not even be on the radar.

Mind you, I am of the belief that God is busy replacing people in our society with those from countries where the majority of people are against both abortion and birth-control. Yes, both Muslims and Hispanics. Oh, and before you say they are not Christians, and do not respect American values, well the biggest value God considers is LIFE!  Believe me, God would rather multiples of children be born with a chance of Salvation than parents limiting their arrows so they can reach the American dream.  Now I am against and abhor anyone coming into America illegibly, but I cannot help but wonder how much of this is being pushed by God, because Americans continue to sacrifice their unborn children to Moloch.

The argument that Muslims will destroy America is a serious one. However, they must stand in line behind the Democrat party that has been busily destroying America for almost 95 years.  If we Christians were serious about following Jesus, then we should be busy following the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20, by proselytizing these Muslims. You know, I am oftentimes reminded by what John the Baptist told the Pharisees and Sadducees.

(Matthew 3:7- 9) But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bear fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not presume to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father,' for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.

Well so too, can God raise up followers of Christ from the Muslims and Hispanic being illegally brought into America. Remember, regardless of how they get here, our job as Christians is to share the Gospel with everyone. God could care less how they got here. He still wants us to share the Gospel, and maybe we will win Muslims here illegally over to Jesus. Consider this, if we stopped limiting our blessings and instead started filling our quiver with many arrows, then we would be able to control our border by controlling the politics, and we would not have a problem with people from other countries coming into America illegally. So many problems in America can be solved if only Christians would live as Christ calls us to live, instead of following the way those lost in the World live. This begins by following God's command to be fruitful and multiply. Brothers and Sisters, it all begins by giving back to God, His right to have complete control over our reproductive rights by trusting that He knows what we can handle.

I'll leave you with one more thought. If we don't stop eliminating our descendants, well we will soon be one extinct culture forgotten about in the annals of history. Interesting how nowhere in Scriptural prophecies do we read about any geographical, economical, intellectual society with the military power that America has. Maybe it's because God knew we would remove ourselves from the equation by limiting births via contraceptives and abortion long before His Son Jesus Christ returns.

Finally I ask every Christian contemplating the idea of limiting how many children you may have to consider Psalm 127:3-5

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

Just some food for thought as you contemplate who is supposed to be in control of your whole life.

I pray those who have ears to hear will hear His voice and call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen

This commentary is posted in full, but any complimentary hits to my website would be appreciated, and any comments posted to my website I promise to respond to. The Reason For My Faith --- Our Reproductive Rights Belong To God, Not Us

There is a lot to unpack in this commentary, and I realize many will come from the point of view that we have free will, which I agree with. However there are consequences we must face when we use our free will to usurp that which God's stated is His right to control.

Theologians have debated for centuries about God’s absolute control over everything versus mankind’s freedom to act on its own. The question people long to have answered is whether everything that happens to us is already determined by God. Or do we have the ability to carry out plans on our own, regardless of what God hoped would happen?

The Bible teaches both God’s sovereignty and our human responsibility. To us, this sounds like a contradiction—and one I don’t believe we’ll fully understand until we get to Heaven. Until that day, we need to hold firmly to both truths: God is in control of everything, but we also are responsible for our actions. In his letter to the Philippians, Paul tells this is because God is working behind the scenes to accomplish His purposes,

For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.
(Philippians 2:13-16

Thus we draw comfort from the fact that God is at work—even if we can’t fully understand it now. We must also realize that we are responsible for decisions we make. There are consequences we will experience when we go against God’s will. This is the importance of asking the Lord for His wisdom and guidance, and thanking Him that He indeed knows all things, is sovereign over all things, and is at work concerning His creation.

What we call “birth control” is both a misnomer and an affront to the Creator. It necessarily opens the door to abortion and euthanasia.

You will find yourself ostracized and in a minority for your teaching, but the truth NEVER is a friend of fallen flesh save for the One Who Redeemed us at great price, Who says difficult things that are true nonetheless.

God bless you.

I obviously added to it since it is now a full commentary instead of a hastily written comment. I must admit, even though I have not written anything worth reading in almost 4 months, other than in my personal journal, but once I got to writing it turned into a 2600 word thesis.

Yet this is something I have contemplating about writing for many years. So now I have it written, maybe I’ll add it as a chapter to my next book.

I would like to add that the command to be fruitful is one thing. The command to multiply is another. Both, while never rescinded, take place under a fog that followed their first utterance.

This has been an object of my pondering often in life, and lately it comes down to what sort of moral force attends to those words. It is most certainly a command. So is “Let there be light.”

Could it be that the command, since it originates from the Creator, produces the very fruit thereof? The other Commendments are prohibitions. This is not.

I have perused your writings from a distance, which means I don’t dig in as I ought, but by and large I sense you have insights into spiritual matters and a gift for articulating that are a blessing to many.

I am honored by your comment.

I used to write more, but as of late I have become very selective, and more times than not I keep my thoughts to my personal journals.

Yet on this matter I have been feeling the Holy Spirit urging me to share my thoughts publicly. I have become disheartened by American Christendom, in that Christians in America continue to be more and more doctrinally unsound as time goes on.

Again, thank you, and God bless.

Elijah was up against unbelief and apostacy in a big way. It is more than disconcerting to know the Truth in the midst of a world run amok. To rest in the sure and certain knowledge that the Creator has all things in hand in the best way for our blessing is to have the Sabbath rest, and that rest entails the bloody atonement of Christ Jesus, by whom you are well known from conception.

I often times look to the prophets whom were persecuted for their warnings and for chastising the masses, especially the Religious leaders and kings.

My favorite is Jeremiah and Habakkuk, both of which lived in the years leading up to the the captivity by Babylon. It was a time when the King and his cronies were so evil they allowed justice to be perverted. So much so that evil abounded while righteousness was attacked. What was going on truly mirrors the way the United States is today.

Between Jeremiah wasn’t just warn the people about judgment for their sins, he was also warning the religious leader, by revealing the evilness of them all. Then there was Habakkuk revealing how evil and corrupted the government was.
Both prophets offer us a picture of how similar things were back then compared to what is happening today before our very eyes.

I pray Trump will fix things, but then I am reminded of how quickly after Reagan left office when things took a drastic turn for the worse.

It is a sobering reminder that without a strong adherence to the doctrine of Christ, how tepid tranquility can be.

Pres Trump stinky has been divinely appointed by God to lead this nation beczuse I bekeive his heart is in the righ place- I don’t know if he is saved or not, I think perhaps he is, but just led astray by his “pastor” whatshername, but even if he isn’t, God still appoints and uses leaders to accomplish his holy plan for this world and for nations.

Pres Trump is exzctly the right leader for the time- he is cleaning house like the old good kings in the bible, and he is removing the asteroth idols (abortion and lgbtq znd transgenderism and multiple gEnders worship, and seversl, other wicked and evil idols that the left worship)- let’s hope and pray that he succeeds for the sake of our nation!

I do agree and pray he succeeds, yet as I stated before, I do worry who will replace him down the road.

Americans are a politically lazy lot, who fall for smooth talking socialists who disguise themselves as compassionate conservatives. The after we end up right back where we were and like Reagan, Trump will one day be forgotten, and that nit too far in the future. Remember Clinton came along only 4 years after Reagan

Children come from having sex. Too many people have lost sight of that. They claim to be surprised by a pregnancy.

That is a relevant point, because God gave us the ability to reproduce. Yet if He did not make it enjoyable, men and women would never get together. Yet instead of coming together for the joy of having children, they only want to get together for the joy of the sex.
