The Shroud of Turin

Psalm 45 A song of praise for King Messiah

Tehillim 45:1 For the conductor, on the shoshannim, by the sons of Korah, a Maskil, a song of endearment.

2 My heart is astir with a good theme, I say, “My works are for a king, my tongue is like the pen of a skillful scribe.” 3 You are beautiful beyond other men, charm is poured upon your lips, therefor ELoHIM has blessed you for eternity.

4 Gird your sword upon thigh, O mighty one, your majesty and splendor. 5 And with your splendor, overcome and ride for the sake of truth and righteous humility; may your right hand guide you to awesome deeds.

6 Your arrows are sharp – nations fall beneath you, in the heart of the foes of the king. 7 Your throne is from ELoHIM, it is forever and ever, the scepter of fairness is the scepter of your kingdom.

8 You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore has ELoHIM ELoHIK, anointed you, with oil of joy from among your peers. 9 Myrrh, aloes, and cassia, are all your garments – from ivory palaces, from those who have gladdened you.

10 Daughters of kings are your visitors, the queen stands erect at your right in the golden jewelry of Ophir. 11 Hear, O daughter, and see, and incline your ear; forget your people and your father’s house,

12 then the king will desire your beauty; for he is your master, so bow to him. 13 And daughter of Tyre, you whose favor has been sought with homage by the richest of the nation,

14 every honorable princess dwelling within, whose raiment is of golden settings; 15 in embroiled apparel she will be brought to the king; the virgins in her train, her companions are led to you.

16 They are brought with gladness and joy, they enter the palace of the king. 17 Succeeding your fathers will be your sons; you will appoint them leaders throughout the land.

18 I will make your name remembered in all generations, therefore the nations will acknowledge you forever and ever.

I couldn’t have said it better!

Now on to the Shroud…

Dr. John Campbell has compiled an excellent video on the shroud.

Enjoy!

The Shroud is our very own witness to the risen Christ. 😎

I’m still blown away by the shroud of Turin. The face of Jesus’s for us to actually see and the evidence of the cruel death he endured, for us.

It’s a gift to us in modern times. A selfie for his flock.

I do think the Shroud is authentic...to a point. I cannot get past the scriptures that say Jesus was wrapped in strips as was the “manner of the Jews.” Also, the face cloth folded and set aside.

I have books on the Shroud and have seen the TV show with the 3d figure, but I cannot determine where the Shroud was when Jesus was Resurrected. How did it take a photo of His back and front at the same time if there were wrappings?

Somewhere decades ago I read that when Jesus was laid to rest in the tomb on Good Friday, it was near sundown which meant the start of the Sabbath. So in a hurry he was draped/covered with the shroud. Mary showed up Sunday a.m. to finish prepping his corpse.

In addition, the shroud was found to have pollen of a plant unique to the area.

(That, right there, was convincing enough)

"I cannot get past the scriptures that say Jesus was wrapped in strips as was the “manner of the Jews.”

Books on the shroud have large sections devoted to this and what the text says in the original Greek. When Jesus raised Lazarus, Lazarus didn't roll out of the tomb. The Jews did not wrap up their dead like mummies. They did use strips to bind the hands and feet, to counter the effects of rigor mortis and they would also bind the jaw closed.

Yes, I know that. That is one clue that makes the Shroud’s authenticity indisputable.
