- There is little at this point you can do to affect the outcome of the election except to vote.
- God is sovereign and will not be surprised by any outcome.
- In light of the above fact, be calm for the sake of your own family and church.
- Exhibit confidence in God and be skeptical about the power of any man or woman.
- Do not believe everything that you hear, good or ill. Nearly every civil war has been fueled by misunderstanding and misinformation.
- Focus on things local; remember that the government nearest you affects you most and is most likely to help you and your neighbors.
- Go to church and go about your business as normal.
- Give thanks for the great Constitutional freedoms that still exist in the USA.
- Honor magistrates and pray for them.
- Beware of crowds.
- When the election occurs, be patient with the results. Assume that bad actors (who do exist) will not prevail.
- Remember that the outcome will be neither as bad nor as good as click-driven commentators and craven politicians will make it out to be.
- Politeness matters; it tends to peace.
- Being a good neighbor will be more important than ever.
- Do not taunt or respond angrily to taunting, whatever the outcome.
- Say less rather than more; read Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. - Hebrews 11:16

Good post. I would add:
17. Try to win political battles, but place a lot more importance on winning the cultural battles. In other words, help to further the next spiritual great awakening.

Agree with everything here. Getting ones panties twisted in a knot never helped anyone or anything, or advanced the Kingdom of God.

Spend your time teaching your children.
So many times I see people who have driven their children off or just never bothered to spend the time to train them up wondering "what happened".
You happened. While you were chasing the dopamine hit of your neighbors thinking you had a "good life" you abandon the second biggest gift God gave you. Your spouse and children.

Nothing about unity - but since I brought it up, I have a difficult time deals with brothers(?) that vote for people that cause enormous problems for this country and in communities - then stand in the pulpit and say we have an obligation to help

Great post. This always comforts me:
“The fact that our heart yearns for something Earth can’t supply is proof that Heaven must be our home.” ~ C.S. Lewis
And seriously? If you’re an Older American Adult, you’ve lived through EVERY STUPID THING Mother Government has thrown at you - and you’re still here! I lived through Carter - and SURVIVED! And knuckled down and THRIVED!
I’m still tickin’ even after four l-o-n-g years of Brandon’s stupidity - and I’ll survive Heels Up Harris should God continue to TEST me!
So, while life on Earth isn’t always a bed of roses - Heaven surely will be! :)

Expounding on #2, God being sovereign, we need to keep those in prayer who are in positions of leadership, because they are there by His design.

there by His design.
God sent the Assyrians, and the Babylonians, to the ancient Israelite kingdoms, for their judgment.
