Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Praise Your Name, Oh LORD!
For Your merciful kindness is great toward us,
And the truth of the LORD endures for ever.
Praise ye the LORD.
Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent Is Your Name Over All The Earth!
We Praise and Worship You,
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God!
Blessed Are You Oh LORD, Our God,
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
LORD of Hosts,
Rock of All Ages!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Two doors down from my sister was a neighbor named "Annie" who had a drinking problem. She was pleasant enough, but was a hoarder, and often had unsavory characters staying with her. While I always greeted her kindly when passing by, I didn't get too close with her. Anyway, one morning, my sister was awakened by a knock on her front door. It was Annie.
"My car won't start." she said. "Can you help me out?"
This puzzled my sister, because, at the time, she didn't have a car, so she couldn't give Annie a ride even if she wanted to. Was Annie thinking that my sister was a mechanic and knew how to fix it?
"Oh, I wasn't asking you for a ride," Annie said. "I just need you to breathe into this little tube to start the engine. For some reason, it's not working for me."
My sister gasped in horror. Evidently, Annie had so many DUI's that the State had installed a device in her car that would kill the engine if there was alcohol on her breath. Annie wanted to "borrow" my sister's sober breath so that she could drive under the influence...again. ..and maybe even kill somebody in the process. Neither my sister nor I had ever even heard of such a device before, but I guess it's a thing. Of course, my sister said "NO." She may have earned the eternal enmity of the neighbor, but sometimes one has to say "No". (The neighbor has long since been evicted for non-payment of the rent, and the house gutted and refurbished.)
In the most simple of terms, we breathe in Air, keep the Oxygen, and breathe out Carbon Dioxide. Conveniently, Plants breathe in Air, keep the Carbon Dioxide, and breathe out Oxygen. It's a perfect arrangement, and a testament to the Wisdom of Our Creator.
But, just as my little true story illustrates, when we inhale, we take in other things with the air (hence allergies, smoke, etc), and when we exhale, we emit some of the substances in our bodies. That's how a breathalyzer ignition lock works.
In Today's Reading, we see Jesus breathing on His Apostles and saying "Receive ye the Holy Ghost."
This story is only mentioned in John's Gospel. This is possibly because John's Gospel is the most "Theological" of the Four, and he spends a lot of words on the Spiritual aspect of Jesus's Ministry.
The Greek word for "breathed on them" is ἐμφυσάω (em-foo-sah'-o) STRONG'S 1720, and is used just once in the Entire Bible. The Holy Spirit was to come in His Fullness on the Day of Pentecost, Fifty Days after the Passover. What Jesus was breathing into the Apostles was "The Promise of the Father". They would not be left as "orphans" when Jesus ascended.
The Apostles are told to wait for this amazing Gift. When they finally do receive the Fullness, their Joy is so overwhelming that their detractors accuse them of drunkenness. It's ironic that in another Passage, (1 Peter 4:7-11), the Spirit of God is linked with sobriety.
Perhaps a prayer for Annie would be fitting, that she may be touched by The Holy Spirit, and only breathe out the sweet fragrance of His Presence, in Jesus Name.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 106 (40-48)
40 Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people,
and he abhorred his heritage;
41 he gave them into the hand of the nations,
so that those who hated them ruled over them.
42 Their enemies oppressed them,
and they were brought into subjection under their power.
43 Many times he delivered them,
but they were rebellious in their purposes,
and were brought low through their iniquity.
44 Nevertheless, he regarded their distress
when he heard their cry.
45 For their sake he remembered his covenant,
and showed compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love.
46 He caused them to be pitied
by all who held them captive.
47 Save us, O Lord our God,
and gather us from among the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name
and glory in your praise.
48 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
And let all the people say, ‘Amen.’
Praise the Lord!
