Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham!
We Come into Your Presence With Singing
And Into Your Courts With Praise,
For Your Are Eternal,
Omnipotent,
And Righteous,
Our Creator,
and The Creator of All That Is!
It Is You That Command Nature and All It Contains,
The Earth is Yours,
and All of It's Creatures.
You can Make them Swarm or Die off;
It Is Your Call.
Even The dust of the earth is at Your Command!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Amen !!! <><
Psalm 53
To the leader: according to Mahalath. A Maskil of David.
1 Fools say in their hearts, ‘There is no God.’
They are corrupt, they commit abominable acts;
there is no one who does good.
2 God looks down from heaven on humankind
to see if there are any who are wise,
who seek after God.
3 They have all fallen away, they are all alike perverse;
there is no one who does good,
no, not one.
4 Have they no knowledge, those evildoers,
who eat up my people as they eat bread,
and do not call upon God?
5 There they shall be in great terror,
in terror such as has not been.
For God will scatter the bones of the ungodly;*
they will be put to shame,* for God has rejected them.
6 O that deliverance for Israel would come from Zion!
When God restores the fortunes of his people,
Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad.

Santa Claus gave me my first guitar on Christmas 1963. I was eleven, and, though I liked Rock and Roll, most of Dad's records were Folk Music. The Kingston Trio Albums were his favorite, but he also had a lot of Peter, Paul, and Mary records. I soon found out that the songs on the Peter, Paul, and Mary records were MUCH easier to figure out on the guitar, as they were more traditional folk songs and spirituals, most of which could be played with two or three chords. Here's how we figured out the chords to a song, back in the day:
Play the record over and over. Since the only key I knew was the key of A, play an A Chord and see if it matches the music. (More than likely the song was in A, E, C, or G, the easiest keys on guitar). If the sound didn't match, there was a device called a "CAPO" which was like a clamp that shorted the strings on the whole guitar. Eventually, you would find the right key by moving the capo up or down the neck until the "A Chord" matched the song. That took up the most amount of time. Then, start playing with the record. Stay on "A" as long as it sounds good with the singer. As soon as the chord sounds lousy, it's time to change the chord. More often than not, the chord would change to a "D" (the "Four Chord), or sometimes to an "E7" (the Five Chord). Then it would resolve back to the "A", which was, of course, the ONE Chord. One, Four, Five, back to One, and that was it for most Folk Songs. Leonard Cohen satirizes this standard Chord progression in the First Verse of his song "Hallelujah".
(It goes like this
The Fourth, the Fifth,
The Minor Fall, the Major Lift"...)
Just yesterday, I was explaining this arduous process to a guitar student of mine, to illustrate to her how to "figure out" a song.
She listened politely, and then said:
"Why didn't you just GOOGLE it?"
Oh. Well.
One of the songs I learned in this manner was called "Jesus Met The Woman". (Ha Ha Ha! I noticed in this Video that the guitars have CAPOS on them!)
As a rebellious teen who had never read the Gospel of John, I had less trouble learning how to PLAY the song than I had discerning its meaning. What was all this about a woman with five husbands hanging out with Jesus at the well? It was the weirdest Bible Story ever.
A quarter of a century later, I read the whole New Testament, and, after the familiar stories in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, I encountered John Chapter 4, the Story behind the Song.
Jesus and His Disciples were taking the shorter route to Jerusalem, the one NOBODY wanted to take because it went through Samaria. The enmity towards Samaria was very ancient, and was the result of Conquerors replacing the Israelites with foreigners, who intermarried with the remnant of Jews who had been left behind after the Assyrian Conquest. There were shreds of the Religion left there, but it had become intermingled with other beliefs, and was lacking the Poetry and Prophets that make up the whole Old Testament. The Samaritans knew about The Torah, and even hoped for The Messiah, but in other ways, they were different. Most Jews would rather take the longer way home rather than deal with them.
The Disciples leave Jesus at the well, and go into town to buy food. It's High Noon, the hottest time of day, and it's safe to assume that nobody would be going to the well at that time of day.
That's when the woman, who is a serial adulteress, shows up, probably hoping she won't run into anybody at that time of day.
Imagine her annoyance when she sees a man at the well, and not only that, a Jewish man, and dressed like some kind of Rabbi. Well, since a Jewish Religious Teacher wouldn't even address her, perhaps she could draw water in peace without having to deal with him.
But then (Oh NO!) He asks her for a drink of water. She tries to deflect the conversation, but they end up talking THEOLOGY, for heaven's sake. The conversation goes round and round, until she mentions The Messiah. Then the man reveals to her, a Samaritan Woman, that the man she is speaking to, is The Messiah Himself.
One of the Revelations that Jesus shares with this undeserving woman ids that God id Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. This revelation is shared during a discussion about when and where we worship God. Is it only on Saturday at a Synagogue? Is it only Sunday Morning in Church? Is it only on Mount Moriah, or Mount Gerezim as well? Jesus tells the woman that God is Spirit, and those who worship Him can commune with Him anywhere.
This is indeed Good News to a People who have been cut off from Jerusalem for hundreds of years.
It's Good News for us, too, as most of us will probably not get to go to Jerusalem in our lifetimes. It's Good News for the Jewish People, whose only access to the Holy Place has been the Western Retaining Wall, with extremely limited admission to the Temple Mount itself, even now.
So whether one is in Jerusalem, Samaria, or even halfway around the World in the USA, you can still worship in the Holy Place, in the midst of your spirit, through the Spirit of Truth Who resides there.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Amen. Isn’t it marvelous how God uses songs to get our attention? He used Christmas carols to bring me to Himself!
