Is this really surprising? Communism is officially atheistic. It’s part of communist ideology. I know China has made free market reforms, but still is a communist totalitarian country.

I've read articles predicting that the Chinese Communist party will be thrown out of power in 2028 because they will be perceived by the people of China as "Having lost the mandate of Heaven."
I've been very interested in seeing if this prediction comes true or not, and this bit about replacing Crosses with Xi would seem to be a precursor to a fall.

I remember when Xi required the Bible to be rewritten to make it more CCP friendly. I first heard about it in December of 2019. My first thought at the time was that the Bible promises a plague upon all those who do this. This was an official act of a recognized Government of billions of people.
I had to wonder in 2020 if Covid-19 began in China the same hour the ink dried on his wicked Godless decree.
