The point I was trying to make was that in the opinion of this "woman of God" He,most assuredly,would have been firmly opposed to the death penalty.

In the opinion of "progressive" members of the clergy God loves abortion and hates the death penalty.

Well, my personal belief is that given the context of the general philosophy Jesus espoused, he would probably personally oppose the death penalty; and He would certainly not ‘love’ abortion.

My point is that He never addressed either. But we constantly see people asserting that Jesus would do this or that with regard to some issue of which He was never recorded as expressing an opinion at all. (I think some are prone to using Jesus to validate their own beliefs - and that’s true of the left as well as the right.)
