First of all, Dear Reader, I would like to apologize for the lapse in posting yesterday. I had to spend the whole morning with Apple Support, only to find out that my Desktop will not accept any more software updates. So why can't I just use my current Operating System? It worked fine before yesterday! Nope. I have to get a whole new CPU with a different OS. Luckily, Apple will take the old one in trade, thereby reducing the cost somewhat, but I really didn't need this new expense at this time. This is one of those cases where "It is what it is", and there is no real workaround. Anyway, I will muddle along until I can stand it no longer, and then, it will be a few days with NO COMPUTER AT ALL, while the contents of the old are transferred into the new. No more new patches on the old garment, I guess.

A neighbor spent almost a year renovating a decrepit mobile home that had been abandoned. The place was so nasty that she had to strip it down to the bare studs, and install all new systems, heating, plumbing, kitchen, bath, electrical, and, finally, wallboard. It was a huge project that went into cost overruns and time beyond what she had expected. Meanwhile, she's paying rent on more than one lot in the park due to her "projects".

Upon completion, she made a hastily scrawled sign "For Sale By Owner". She put her asking price ON the sign (something you should never do) and tried to run her own Open House. The house has been for sale for months now and nobody has made any kind of offer. I suggested a dear friend of mine who is a Realtor, but, evidently she had a big fight with her. Then I suggested some of the online Realty Sites, and she said she had been BANNED. Finally, though, she has listed with an agent (not my dear friend though), and hopefully she will get the house sold. It's really cute inside, and the price is reasonable for the area. But the neighbor was not receiving wise counsel and tried to do everything herself, HER WAY. Not only did she need wise counsel, she needed the power to get things done. That "power" would be access to Multiple Listings, Licensing to go through appropriate channels, knowledge of local laws and ordinances, and a connection to a Mortgage Broker. It is possible to sell one's own house, but there are a lot of pitfalls in the way.

Today's dual Name for the Holy Spirit is "The Spirit of Counsel and Might".

These two attributes may seem to be unrelated, as; what does Counseling have to do with "Power"?

All the Good Advice in the World is not helpful if there is no way to bring it about. We need someone who not only KNOWS the Law, but has the Power to Navigate us in it and through it.

The Apostles knew the Truth after Jesus ascended to Heaven, but they were powerless to do anything about it. On the Day of Pentecost, they were filled with the Holy Spirit, and were able to go out and confront the World with the Gospel.

Imagine being "counseled" to do a certain action, but not given the means to do it?

The Holy Spirit would never do that to you. He not only GIVES you the Word, but gives you the Power to share it.

Oh boy! I had Apple for years and finally got fed up with the bricking. Switched over to Microsoft. Better but still not ideal. I wish I knew more to build my own. But good to see you back.

I’m thankful the Holy Spirit dwells with us because I can really mess things up on my own.

Heavenly Father, help me to see the Holy Spirit anew, as an extension of God in the world. Thank You for His presence, power and fellowship. May I know Him more deeply today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
