My parents were not fond of "Academia", but the did believe in "education". They took the whole family to Historic Sites such as Mystic Seaport, Old Sturbridge Village, and Plimouth Plantation (now with a new, politically correct, name).

They also made sure I had plenty of books to read, including two complete sets of Encyclopedias. I was a voracious reader, and read the Entire "Book of Knowledge" series of 26 Volumes, starting with "A" and reading all the way to "Z". I had a lot information that I retained and tossed around indiscriminately to look "Smart". This got me into a lot of trouble. Once when my little girlfriends and I were playing "Twenty Questions" on a long auto trip to the beach, I let my friends run all twenty questions without getting the answer. That's because the answer to "What Am I?" was "I am a Trilobite". When challenged, I explained that it was a pre-historic creature that ruled the world back in the Cambrian Period. Now, not only were my girlfriends mad at me, so were the parents in the car. The accused me of making it up. Nobody knew what a "Trilobite" was, and nobody believed me.

I was glad when we finally arrived at Poponesset Beach on the Cape and our attention was diverted by the Glorious Warm Ocean Water.

I had a lot of "information" in those days, but not much WISDOM.

Today we look at a Messianic Prophecy from Isaiah that list Seven Names of The Holy Spirit. Some Denominations call these "Gifts" of the Holy Spirit, and others call them "Attributes", and they are both. They are also NAMES. We will look at all of them, but Today, we will talk about "Wisdom and Understanding". As proven by my story about the Trilobites, it is possible to be very smart, but have NO Wisdom or Understanding, about Life, Human Nature, Good vs. Evil, or even the qualities of Love, Faith, Patience, Joy, Peace, Goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and Self-Control (many of you will recognize THESE qualities as "The Fruit of the Holy Spirit).

Wisdom and Understanding are never found in someone who is evil, even if that person is an "Evil Genius". (The Evil Bond Villains ALWAYS end up doing something UNwise, leading to their Downfall) Those who want to Rule the World without Wisdom and Understanding only have to look at the creature who "ruled the world" back in the Cambrian Period. You know, that creature that NOBODY knows about now?

No matter what a person's IQ may be, the Indwelling of the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding will give that person a Beauty of the Soul that transcends "Information". It will give that person The Peace That Passes Understanding.

I would rather have Wisdom and Understanding than Useless Information any day.

So many educational institutions these days teach knowledge and mostly indoctrinate students with a world view whose hallmark is a complete lack of wisdom. I’ve heard those who suffered under this system of brainwashing called “educated idiots.” Smart enough to work the system to gain power and control and store up vast wealth for themselves and their own, but poisonous to everyone else. Thoroughly corrupt.
