Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Majestic,
How Wonderful,
How Excellent is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy to be Praised and Worshiped,
for You Alone Are the Most High,
Ancient of Days,
Rock Of Ages,
The All-In-All,
Aleph~Tav,
Alpha and Omega!
It is a Joy to Praise You,
because You Are So Awesome in Your Glory,
Endlessly Creative,
Infinitely Just and Righteous,
Eternally Holy and Pure,
Yet Incredible Patient and Forgiving,
Slow to Anger, and Full of Love!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Oscar Wilde wrote a strange little book that has been made into movies and plays a number of times. It is a "Psychological Thriller" called "The Picture of Dorian Gray". It is a lurid tale of a magical painting of the Title Character, that grows old and decrepit, while the human Dorian goes about living a hedonistic lifestyle without aging a bit. The portrait, hidden in the attic, shows the ravages of sin, while the protagonist goes through life hurting and even murdering people with his wickedness. It is ironic, since the author himself lived a rather dissolute lifestyle, but is reported to have repented near the end of his life. The major point of the book, in my humble opinion, was not so much that Dorian harmed himself with his sinful lifestyle, but the harm it did to others. Every time he hurt somebody else, a lesion or a scar would show up on the painting. Just my Two Cents. I am not a Literary Critic by any stretch of the imagination. I just really like that book.

There have been a couple of awesome weddings in our family recently, as my two nephews got married within a few years of each other. That means that my sister was the "Mother-of-the-Groom" TWICE in two years. Of course she had to have a different outfit each time, so we spent a lot of time looking for dresses. "Auntie" had to dress up too, which was hard for me, since my normal attire consists of Jeans, Hiking Boots, and a Harley T-Shirt. I don't feel comfortable in a fancy dress, but a wedding is important! I guess I looked good, having gotten dressed early, and applied my usual understated make-up. Then I found out that the entire Wedding Party was getting their Make-Up done by Professional Make-Up Artists just down the hall in one of the Guest Rooms. I wasn't actually in the Wedding Party, but one of the Make-Up Artists was very gracious and said she would do my Make-Up as soon as she finished with the Wedding Party. We had plenty of time, and she was happy to do it for me. Woo Hoo! I thought. I haven't had a professional Make-Up Job since 1995, when I did a Photo Shoot for my first CD! I was actually excited about it.

I sat patiently as the members of the Bridal Party were transformed into glamorous fashion models, one-by-one. Then it was my turn. I washed off my own subtle, sheer, transparent make-up that I had applied earlier, and sat in the chair.

The first thing the Make-Up Artist did was glue false eyelashes onto my eyelids. They were HUGE. They felt like spiders on my eyelids. Then she proceeded to paint my face with (what seemed to me to be) a thick paste. I was beginning to regret my decision, but I behaved myself. I was going to look GORGEOUS. I just knew it!

Finally, she was finished. She held up a mirror in the harsh lighting and I was horrified. I hated the way I looked. It just wasn't me. But what was done was done, and the Wedding was about to begin.

All through the Wedding, people were taking pictures of me. I shuddered to think of how I looked in those pictures, but then I received one of them in my e-mail. It was a group picture of five women, my Three Sisters, my Sister-In-Law, and Me. We all looked beautiful. Even I looked good. In fact I looked positively ravishing.

Under the harsh light of the Make-Up Artist, I felt I looked terrible. But the Make-Up Artist knew that, under the soft festive lighting of the Wedding Tent, it was just right.

When we first come to Faith in Christ, we are confronted by our sin. That is a harsh light that searches our souls and convicts us of all the spots and wrinkles that have been put there by sin. It's like the picture in the attic, recording everything we have done or said that hurt somebody else, or our own souls as well.

"Repentance" is not the same thing as a helf-hearted non-apology "apology". It is AGREEMENT with God that, Yes, Sin is Sin, and I am guilty of it.

It's only after we have been forgiven, washed clean, and clothed in the Righteousness of Christ, that we can get up onto the Dance Floor, and Dance with the Bridegroom.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Thank you Lord Jesus.

Thanks For Reconciliation With God
I rejoice and thank You Father, that I have peace with You through our Lord Jesus Christ, and have wonderful access to Your amazing gift of grace, through simply believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank You, that although I was far away from You and wallowing in my sin and disobedience, I have been brought close to You Father, through the precious blood of my Jesus Christ my Saviour. It is a thing most wonderful to know that through the cross of Christ, the hostility that I had with You Lord, has been removed. I have been reconciled back to God, and have not only become a a citizen of heaven along with all who trust in Christ Jesus and have been made a member of God’s household, but also His beloved child and joint-heir with Christ Himself. There are no words sufficient for the thanks that I give You and pray that I may worship You for ever and ever.

I glorify Your wonderful name that there is now no condemnation, and that my reconciliation with God almighty is both permanent and eternal. For the wrath of God was poured out upon the innocent life of the Lord Jesus, Who took my place, so that I could be brought back into fellowship with You, and reconciled with God.

Praise Your wonderful name for ever and ever and ever, amen.

Psalm 110

Of David. A Psalm.

1 The Lord says to my lord,
‘Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies your footstool.’

2 The Lord sends out from Zion
your mighty sceptre.
Rule in the midst of your foes.
3 Your people will offer themselves willingly
on the day you lead your forces
on the holy mountains.*
From the womb of the morning,
like dew, your youth* will come to you.
4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind,
‘You are a priest for ever according to the order of Melchizedek.’*

5 The Lord is at your right hand;
he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath.
6 He will execute judgement among the nations,
filling them with corpses;
he will shatter heads
over the wide earth.
7 He will drink from the stream by the path;
therefore he will lift up his head.
