Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your Name!
How Wonderful You Are!
It Is A Joy To Praise Your Name,
You Alone Are Worthy to be Worshiped,
For Your Alone Are The One True God.
Omnipotent
Omniscient,
Almighty and Omnipresent,
You Are The GREAT I AM,

Let all that has been Concealed

The Tow Truck roamed around and around the Mobile Home Park, the driver peering into the driveways. My neighbor Evie and I couldn't stand the suspense, so we asked the man what address he was looking for. He responded with the address of the entire Park.

"That's the address of the entire Park", Evie said, "You need a House Number."

We both questioned the driver as to the name of the party he was trying to locate, and wondered aloud if one of our neighbors was having car troubles, and needed a tow.

The two of us old ladies finally were able to extract from the Driver that he was looking for a 2023 Mercedes Benz . He was the dreaded REPO MAN!

Neither of us would rat out our neighbors, but we both burst into laughter.

"NOBODY in this Park could afford a MERCEDES! There aren't any Mercedes HERE! HA HA HA!

We were both telling the honest truth. I'll bet there isn't a single car in the Park that has less than 100,000 miles on it. Ha Ha Ha! We even have our own Car Mechanic at the entrance to the Park who keeps our old heaps running. (Thanks, Charlie, We LOVE You!)

The REPO Man shrugged and drove off.

That being said, it is easier to get a Car Loan than a personal loan for the very reason that the REPO MAN can legally take your car away if the payments aren't met. That's the reason the Interest rates can be lower for a Car Loan as well. The Car itself serves as Collateral. It may not end up being worth as much as the Unpaid Balance, but at least the bank gets something back.

Sometimes, the customer has been making faithful payments for a long time, and the unpaid balance is less than what he paid in so far. It doesn't matter. The REPO MAN can take the car anyway. It's not a very good "covenant"but it is what it is.

In this Passage of Scripture, Jesus is called "The Surety of a Better Testament". The KJV uses the word "Testament", while other translations use the word "Covenant".

There are many covenants in the Bible. From God's Covenant with Noah, through His Covenant with Abraham, with David, with the People of Israel, all the way to You and Me, God has made Covenants throughout Redemptive History.

Just as a Car Loan or Mortgage needs some kind of Collateral to guarantee it, Ancient Covenants were "Sealed in Blood" to guarantee their efficacy throughout the Ages.

In this Deep and Difficult Passage (from a Deep and Difficult New Testament Book), the Author of Hebrews calls Jesus that "Guarantee". He has sealed the Covenant with us in His Own Blood.

The REPO MAN has NO POWER over you!
