61.4% to 38.3%.................a squeaker.................
All this vote proves is that the 19th amendment was a mistake.
“Meredith Stone, the executive director of Baptist Women in Ministry, said...”demonstrates that women in ministry are still devalued”.
She is an example of why it NEEDED to pass! We can listen to the Apostle Paul or Meredith Stone...
Godly men should always be the minister of a church, but women can minister to women and we all can minister to everyone, in our lives.
In five years, they’ll vote in favor.
The SBC keeps adding wedges to pull their coalition apart, just like the old denominations have done.
Next, the factions will head off in separate directions, and the liberal groups will go full-on woke.
There should be a split. Like what is happening with the Methodist Church.
If women feel called by God to preach the word of The Lord, then let them preach it! Christianity is under attack in America. We need all the sincere reinforcements we can get.
Traditional ways are not the only ways to accomplish the same goals. They are not always taking positions away from men.
So long as it is God they are praising, and not something secular or personal, such as LGBT etc, etc.
That the vote was this close and even won a seat at the debate table does not bode well for the SBC. They have been slowly apostatizing for decades.
“The vote’s failure is a blow to the group’s hard-right faction..”
Hard right faction? You mean people who read and understand the Bible?
Personally I’m not attending a church with a woman as pastor. Its not in the design of the christian church via Biblical teachings. Notice those churches who do are leftist oriented Woke ones often with heretical teachings. No way...
This is how the left took over the Episcopal Church. First they voted to ordain women, then the quickly moved on to ordaining celibate homosexuals and finally embracing same-sex unions, same-sex marriages, and now every perversity known to man.

Second, we are committed to celebrating and supporting LGBTQ+ women and open and affirming congregations, while also working with individuals and congregations who are not affirming and those who are still discerning.
As we put these commitments into practice, we pledge that we will make the hard decisions necessary to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of women of global majority and LGBTQ+ persons.

When women become dominant in an organization, men lose interest. It’s just the way it is.
