This should be interesting.
If they believe the Bible given from God through the words of the Apostle Paul, they will know how to vote.
Lotta men in that denomination not gonna be gettin any for awhile methinks.
The issue is hermeneutics. Your hermeneutics informs your theology. If you fix your hermeneutics, this and many other issues, evaporates.
That is very true.
I don't get your post #7 - are you saying that the SBC should not argue about this issue?
Not this again...
No chix.
Dear good ol’ Southern Baptists,
Now’s the time to redeem yo’selves, wi’t all dah eyes of dah woild lookin’ at ya’s. Ye who are woildly known fo’ y’all’s “don’t” lists, now git to sttand up an’ really say fo’true, “dah bible tell me so!”, ‘bout iffin a woman cain’t preach or not!
Y’all say the bible is gawd’s woid, front to back, an’ iffin it says no women, why y’all sayin’ yes d’ey is?
“For a long time, contrary to our Convention’s statement of faith, women have served as pastors in our Convention,” Law wrote in a letter to the SBC’s executive committee. “The problem is clear. The Bible is clear. Our Confession is clear. Now it is time for our Constitution to be clear, which will help secure our unity in the truth as a Convention.”The Bible is basically clear.
Last year in the first vote on this amendment it passed by 70%. The liberals are trying hard to defeat it.
Aside from the Scripture and theology ...
The practical reason for rejecting women as pastors/preachers/priests is that the women who clamor most loudly for admittance to such ministry are manifestly unfit for it. They see it as a matter of power rather than service.
Please God, ban female pastors. Please.
