Printing fear mongering stories is the way newspapers stay in business. Either it is disease, flu, Glo-bull Warming, Haley’s Comet, or the coming ice age of the 1970s.
The purpose of a politician is to keep the public frightened of an imaginary booger man that only the politician can protect you from.

That’s just as likely if it’s not a real frankenvirus.
They can instill the panic, declare any illness they encounter as *bird flu* and count any flu deaths, or motorcycle fatalities as *bird flu* as well, and who’s going to know the difference. Especially if there’s no testing done.
